Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Carpal tunnel syndrome is a neurological condition where increased pressure is placed on the median nerve in the wrist, resulting in the nerve being compressed or pinched. Compression of the nerve often comes from swelling, altered wrist anatomy, or an injury, although it can be caused by a number of medical conditions. We diagnose and treat carpal tunnel syndrome in Fayetteville and the Cape Fear Region.

Radiology
After a few minutes, one of our professional Medical Assistants will come out to the lobby, and call you by name to bring you back to our clinical area. Dr. Deren Bagsby specializes in Advanced Joint Replacement for Fayetteville Orthopedics. Since starting practice in North Carolina in 2019, Dr. Bagsby has completed over 500-plus primary and total joint revisions. He performs all of his hip replacements through the revolutionary direct anterior approach. This approach utilizes an incision on the front of the hip that allows the joint to be replaced without detaching any tendons, thereby reducing recovery time, improving functional outcomes, and enhancing patient satisfaction.
Arthroscopy
Sports medicine, shoulder arthroscopy, and knee reconstruction remain the mainstay of Dr. Barnes’ practice. He has performed over 3,000 shoulder arthroscopies and 500 knee ACL reconstructions in Fayetteville.
Joint Replacement
With us, you’ll always be given thoughtful, individualized care and treatment for joint replacements in Fayetteville and The Cape Fear Region. We’ll work with you to determine if you’re a good candidate for joint replacement. Most patients choose to have a total joint replacement when their joint pain causes difficulty sleeping, limits their ability to participate in daily activities, or prevents them from participating in their hobbies. In cases of very localized arthritis, you may be a candidate for a partial joint replacement.
Hand Surgery
Dr. Barrie attended medical school at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts and did her residency in orthopaedic surgery at Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut. Her interest in hand surgery developed during her residency training at Yale. Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Barrie completed subspecialty training in a Hand & Microvascular fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, in Rochester, MN.
Orthopedic Surgery
A native of Cincinnati, Dr. Bagsby completed his medical school training at Indiana University, where he was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. During his residency, he trained in multiple aspects of orthopedic surgery with an interest in fracture care and total joint replacement.
Arthroscopy
After completing his fellowship, Dr. McBrayer focused his private practice in sports medicine, with particular emphasis on ACL reconstruction, meniscal repair, hip and labral arthroscopy repair, and rotator cuff repairs. He also performs complex reconstructions and replacements of the shoulder. He performed the first reverse total shoulder in the Cape Fear region. He also serves as the team physician for the Fayetteville State Broncos as well as covering various area high school athletic teams.
