Extra Space Storage

I find this facility to be one of the most cleanest public storages I've ever used. The employees are very professional in how they address and talk to me. I love the storage facility they are the best

As usual great service from this place. Lesea the manager is the best! You will not be dissappointed at all.

Unbelievable! This places requires a drivers license (which they will keep on file) and fingerprinting in order to rent a space. FINGERPRINTING!! They cannot give any good reason for demanding this SPI (Sensitive Personal Information -- i.e., the stuff that identity thieves use). They keep saying it's their policy, and for security, but can't explain how it impoves security for customers -- because, in fact, they want it for *their* security -- to chase down people who write bad checks or skip out without paying. They also could not give me a description of how they're going to protect my SPI and make sure it's not compromised internally.



I'm going to check out Budget Storage on Collins Ave in Richmond (near Hilltop Mall). The guy on the phone said their office might (but doesn't always) ask for the last 4 numbers of your SS#; and, if you want, you can block out the DL # on your photo ID. If you're deemed a good credit risk (on a case-by-case) basis, then they won't demand DL#, etc. Still not ideal, but a lot more sensible and flexible than the other places. And they were honest about their reasons for needing the personal information (i.e., they didn't say it was for *my* security).



Protect your privacy rights and your SPI. Go somewhere else.
