Overall
love the staff but . . .

I've been going here for a while and I love the young lady who does my hair and I have some pretty unmanageable hair at that and it always looks amazing when I leave so that's why I keep coming back. But on several occasions a I've been approached by a woman who claims to be the owner trying to shove products down my throat! . . I have been buying aveda for years and buy the big bottles which last me a long time therefore i really don't need to shop that often but when I try to tell her that she talks over me and shows me more things I don't need and tells me that if I take 3 products I'll get 10% off! This is just extremely tacky and rude! But I would have to say the worst was that after all was said and I was waiting for my husband to pick me up when another woman walked in and the owner walked up to her and started pushing products at her the woman looked very uncomfortable got what she needed which was a good amount to things and left. As soon as she walked out the door the owner turned and told the staff at the front desk, "I'm so good, I could sell to anyone. I just sold that lady $200 of products!" The poor girls at the desk just looked at her and smiled but I could see the discussed on there faces and embarrassment. This shocked me I cannot believe the nerve of this woman saying these things well I'm in ears shot of her ramblings! I will come back for my hair but I'm buying my product from another aveda salon. I refuse to give this woman any money after that. It just shows me what I money hungry lowlife she is. .

Overall
amazing!

I've been to many salons in el paso but I have to say this is the best. Every one was very friendly and professional, so it definitely lived up to the aveda name. I went in for a facial and massage and have to say it was the best ever! I've made standing appointments for both every month. Thank goodness I found this place.

Overall
will never return!!!!

I was very reluctant to add a rating however; I went there last week for a haircut. The gentleman who did my hair was amazing his name was Richard. During my haircut the two ladies who who sat next to him (tall blonde lady and a shorter lady with the squeaky annoying laugh, who has short hair) where going on and on about a Laura. At first I thought it was another client and I thought to myself wow is this what goes on here, they bash their clients? But as a conversation went on it turned out to be their owner. I always knew salons had regular gossip but hearing so much negativity about the owner makes me never want to go there again. I know I should not have been listening to the conversations between them and their clients but them talking so loud it was hard to not listen. I don't want to go where the owner is such a bad person and where the hairdressers I have absolutely no respect for the boss.

Worst experience ever! Stylist...

Worst experience ever! Stylist was rude, Couldn't even cut my hair straight, and left 70% of the hair clippings down the back of my clothes! Only cut half the style I asked for and then way overcharged me for it. Will never be going back, and now have to go to another salon to fix this mess that is not finished properly. Disgusted. Thought by going to an Aveda salon that I would be getting far superior service.

I just moved to el paso from a...

I just moved to el paso from arizona and i was very worried about finding another stylist. I decided to go to Foliage because my neighbor goes there. I asked for a master stylist for reassurance. I was more than satisfied with Anabell. She was very professional and knowledgeable in everything. She was able to take the info that i gave her about my hair and give me a great color and amazing cut. I'll never go to anyone else!!!!!!

DOES NOT LIVE UP TO THE AVEDA ...

DOES NOT LIVE UP TO THE AVEDA NAME!!!!

This was the WORST experience I have ever had at an "Aveda" salon and one of the worst I have experienced at any salon ever. I live in rural New Mexico and drove 2 hours to get to Foliage Salon because I was hoping for the consistently excellent care I am used to receiving from other Aveda salons across the country. So, this experience was even more disappointing.

I went into the salon and asked the stylist, Annabelle, to color my hair a copper red. I showed her a picture of a model with the shade I wanted. She crinkled her nose in disgust and told me the hair looked orange. After showing her a number of pictures of myself on my cell phone with shades of red I liked, she just stared at me like I was speaking a foreign language. Then she handed me a set of color swatches and asked me to pick one. I was offended--if I knew what color formulas I needed to get the result I wanted, I would have done it myself rather than pay for her expertise. Despite our discussion, my hair did not turn red, it turned BROWN!

Normally, I would be more forgiving, but with the long list of complaints I have about the customer service at the salon, I refuse to offer compassion or another opportunity to take my money.

--Annabelle was 15 minutes late for my 1:00 appointment because she was at lunch. The front desk noted twice that I was early, but that's no excuse for why she was late.

--As noted earlier in this post, I was put off by Annabelle's condescending, rude nature when discussing what I wanted (and IMO, someone with fire-engine red hair should not be critical of someone like me for wanting an "orange" shade of red."

--During my shampoo, I was at the middle sink of three. Not only was it a tight space for the stylists to work (they bumped into each other and had to squeeze in while working,) but water from the other two sinks splashed into my face while the adjacent clients were getting their own shampoos.

--When one client was finished and asked to go back to the stylist's chair, that person's stylist and the other three nearby shared jokes and laughter about how strange the guy was. One even came back and shared a joke with the others; completely rude and unprofessional!

--After my hair was shampooed and Annabelle returned with me to the stylist chair, she asked me what I thought of the color. I said, "this looks brown to me, not red." The only response I got was "oh." No apology, no offer to fix it, nothing. When she dried my hair, she asked again what I thought and I said, "it's still dark." She responded with a smile "GOOD!" I refrained from saying, "that's not a compliment, honey."

So, I went in expecting highlights and lowlights that would make me a firey redhead and instead, I got an all-over color that made me a drab brown. I was told that the color would fade to a lighter shade, so I washed it as soon as I got home to speed up the fading process. It's still as dark as what it was. I even used a box color I picked up on the way home and it now has a hint of red in bright sunlight, but still looks brown in any other light.

Lesson learned: Just because it has a "prestigious" brand name on the front door doesn't mean the business lives up to the standards one would expect from the familiar name. If I would have read the reviews before I went, I would have been able to save my time and money.

LOVED THIS PLACE!!!!!!

I just recently moved here from the sunshine state. I have been asking around to see where would be the best place to get a facial that would be comparable to my old salon (which I loved ) . After many dead ends and not so great service I decided to try Foliage Salon and to my surprise not only did they met my expectations the exceeded them by far !!! The women girl Annie ,that did my facial not only gave great service, but made me feel very welcome to el paso. She was very attentive and seemed to be on top of her game. This most certainly will not be my last visit here . I LOVED THIS PLACE!!!!!
