Charging high prices for hail damaged cars, and sales people are know it alls who only care about being right rather than listening to the customers. (A salesperson I had never met before butted into a conversation I was having with the salesperson helping me, then became quite rude when I tried to leave the dealership).

Prior to arrival, I tried to contact the dealership to find out cost of car. No direct response. Bunch of silly emails and phone calls trying to ask what type of car I was interested in rather than answering my question.

Upon arrival, I asked to see a particular car and they put me in a more expensive car and tried to get away without telling me they were doing so.

I went to another dealership to purchase a car - and was treated with respect.

Made an appointment to look at a specific vehicle, and was told to meet with Liz. I got there and asked for Liz and was told she was eating lunch which I found odd because it was 415. I saw the van getting washed and asked what was going on with it. I was then told it was getting a new battery in it. Then after running me around the lot a few times looking at other vehicles I was told it was sold. Very uncooperative and then when I saw another vehicle the online price was 10k and they wanted 13k and I asked about the online price and the guy at the dealership told me that he couldn't give me that price. I guess they don't know that online prices are legally binding.

I just want to add a little something so all of you know. There is no such thing as "As is" Auto dealers might tell you this but if your car just breaks down a few months after purchase you can contact DPS and have them investigate these shady dealers in El Paso. I have done it before and they will come the their place of operation and make them show all their books and other complaints. Once that happens these fraudsters will be found for the criminals they are. They will lose everything dealers license, money, and their business. Dont let them take advantage of you. Do not even try to contact them just contact DPS they will get your money back for you.

January 2011

My wife and I were in the market for a better vehicle. We were 21 & 20 respectively with less than perfect credit. At that point in time we were doing our best to improve it. We purchased a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer. $7500 down.

I'm not complaining about the financing, and our credit wasn't so bad that we had to get one of those devices that requires a code every month. I understand why all that is done. Here's the problem.

We purchased the vehicle "as is", that's well understood. In the time since we purchased it:

The battery gave out within a few days of us owning the truck. Surprisingly enough Bestway had it replaced free of charge.

the fuel gauge went out after a month

$500 (the gauge is attached to the fuel pump inside the tank)

the water pump went out & took the serpentine belt with it

$450

a mysterious check engine light that we have yet to figure out has been on since a month after we purchased this vehicle

$200+(so far we've replaced the MAF, fuel filter, air filter, etc) to no avail)

Due to this damn light, we have been unable to pass inspection. Our inspection has been expired since NOVEMBER 2011!!!!(It is now November 2012)

the key fob(remote entry) lock button stopped working

the CD player ate one of our CD's and has yet to spit it out to date

The alternator went out

($150)

Now, despite these suspicious events, I kept in mind that it was clear they weren't responsible even though it greatly diminished my opinion of them. We've had this vehicle less than TWO YEARS! Here's the event that really took the cake.

Remember the battery I mentioned earlier? It went out, AGAIN! It was from O'Reillys' Auto Parts. We gave them a call and even though the vehicle was ours, they can't honor the warranty because it's not transferable and the dealership had purchased it for us. We gave the dealership a call. They refuse to help us. Mind you, this won't cost them any money, not a single penny. All they have to do is take time out of their oh so busy day to straighten the matter out with O'Reillys' Auto Parts. They refuse, every person we've spoken with has been nothing but rude, even driving my wife to the point of tears!

We've made every single payment on this vehicle on time, driving all the way from Westside El Paso every month.

I will NEVER purchase a car from this dealership again. Even if they were the last dealership on the face of the Earth and someone had a gun to my head.

I will NEVER recommend this dealership to anyone I know, and will go so far as to warn whoever asks and even those that don't, that they should never even take a look at this dealership.

Words can't express how much I absolutely abhor Bestway Auto's, they are the WORST car dealership 7 ways to Sunday!

They are CROOKS DO NOT BUY FROM THESE SCAMMERS

I purchased a vehicle 2 months before it broke down. Myself as 3 other customers run the same fate. I contacted the store and the finance Manager Benny. He thought it was funny that I complained as he told me that the car was sold as is. He tells me that Bestway can tow it to their lot and fix it. The towing and repair charges will be charged to my account. I asked about just receiving a quote for the work so that I may compare fixing the vehicle with a mechanic with a lower cost. He tells me they do not allow me getting quotes and that they are not in the business of doing favors or anything for free. At this time he advices me that people that purchase vehicles from them are misinformed and looking for something for free. After 3 months the agency has not fixed the vehicle, or applied for plates with the state of Texas. I received a citation for driving without plates before the car broke down. This company is out to get the consumers hard earned cash.

I should have read the comment...

I should have read the comments before I bought my car. I should have checked the ratings on the BBB, see it for yourself:

http://www.bbb.org/elpaso/business-reviews/auto-dealers-used-cars/best-way-auto-sales-in-el-paso-tx-94120019

what really bugs me is that, I spent the only money that I had saved because I really needed a car. If you have bad credit, ride the bus, I do. Save your money for a car that you really want, work hard for it. The larger the down payment the more willing the real car dealerships are to work with you.

So I tell you all, do your homework. I'm not going to bad mouth the company, they do it on their own. READ the BBB rating, it will also tell you that their accreditation needs a fresh start program.

Its so sad, and James A. (Owner) is giving a $30,000 car away as a charity donation. How very nice of him. I just hope its from of your real car lots, and not from your used.

Review number one is a liar. They are the worst auto dealer ship in the world. If you go to BBB, you will see they are rated an "F". They sell broken down vehicles and won't approve warranties. They ignore your calls, won't give you rental cars till yours is fixed and put you through to lying managers. They never return calls and make promises they won't keep to shut you up. My daughter bought a car there with a warranty and it broke down 2 days later. She was smart enough to purchase the warranty, but she still doesn't have her car back as of today (01/10/2012). They promised they would give her her money back and then they changed their mind. Then they promised her a rental car (they gave her a Ford Focus with a head light out), then they took it back and promised her a rental car and then made up another excuse why. THEY ARE SCAM ARTIST AND GOOD AT THEIR SCAMMING JOB!!!!! BUYER BEWARE. They need to be reported to the Attorney General and Consumer Reports for their games.

bestway auto

The best way to experience bestway auto is to stay away. My wife and I went on a recent Friday to purchase a vehicle once we found what we didn't want it was only going to take about 20 mins for paper work to be completed we were the only ones there at this time. Well I had to be at work @ 1 didn't leave till about 330 got there about 915am. Ok the car dirty full of dog hair and the ac wasn't working the salesman says we can have these thins taken care of by next day afternoon. He calls me on saturday morning and says u can pick up the car because the shop is closed on weekends bring it back nextweek and get it done. Well its been about 3 weeks still not done. Here's the other problem when on thursday the salesman calls my wife to bring it in,once she got there for a job that should only take about 3hrs(according to him) took about six guess what the car is still dirty and he tried to hug and kiss her telling her if she was with him she wouldn't have to work. I am so angry right now I'm ready to kick his , but I just called in and told his mgr. Problem solved almost still gotta have it cleaned
