Max & Elsie's Pet Resort

I give Max and Elsie's ZERO stars..Boarded our dog from July 14-24,2016 while on vacation..Left specific instructions regarding health issues,basic meds needed as far as Genteal eye drops for moisture and 1/4 pepcid daily and emergency vet information if he went 2 or more days without eating or any other medical emergency..Called on 3 occasions during vacation and was told he's great and everything's fine in a very abrupt and dismissive fashion...After one phone call my daughter stated "mom I don't think she even knew which dog I was talking about."...I told her not to worry even though the person was rude considering they have a lot of parents to deal with but I was confident they would let us know if there was a problem...July 23 I called and was told he was fine but he seemed to be very tired...I asked her what did she mean and once again she stated he was fine but seemed a little tired..Upon arrival to Max and Elsie's at 8 am on July 24 the bill was immediately taken care of and then we were able to see our boy..Immediately noticed his right eye was matted shut..I asked if his eye drops had been given and was told yes..Left Max and Elsie's and went directly to vet..He was diagnosed with eye infection and in 10 days his weight had went from 15.6lbs to 14lbs and were later told by Max and Elsie's that was due to increased activity..It has been impossible to achieve any resolution to this situation with Max and Elsie's due to phone calls being ignored..First attempt at sending certified letter was returned..Somehow Max and Elsie's evaded certified letter through post office...The NEGLECT my dog endured at Max and Elsie's has been detrimental to his health...The NEGLECT was unconscionable and super difficult to even comprehend..Why accept him for boarding if request for eye drops and pepcid to be given was too difficult?..Why were we never notified of his condition?..How did no one notice?..Why disregard emergency vet information provided and get care for him?

The best place in Edmond! The staff knows me and my doggie. The staff is always friendly, always makes me feel welcome. Princess gets great attention, they love her as much as I do. Thanks for being my dogs best place to stay and play.

We've taken our dogs to Max and Elsie's a few times to get groomed, so have several other of our family members. The most recent time, they were EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful to one of my family members, telling them that their appointment was NOT scheduled for that day and time, and notified us that they now charge $10 extra per dog to pick up at noon. We weren't bothered by the $10 extra, but have never been to a groomer that charges to pick our dog up at noon, rather than having them sit in a cage all day long. However, we were very upset at how everything was handled. My sister called them after she left (and had been told that SHE had written the appointment date and time down wrong, when she had her calendar right in front of her) to tell them that she was upset at how she had been treated and the lady YELLED at her on the phone and told her that she didn't care if she ever brought her dogs back there again. I think the situation could've been handled in a different manner, and needless to say, our dogs will NOT be going back to Max and Elsie's.

I sent both of my dogs to this resort, and found it to be genuinely loving place, with responsible caretakers.

One of my dog's had specific medical needs while she was there, and they went out of their way to take care of her.

They provide a fun, safe environment for the dogs with scheduled movies, play time, and even snack... Reminds me of sending my child to Mother's Day Out. Perhaps the most impressive to me was the way the owners show integrity and follow through in the way they handle their business and their customers. This is a wonderful place for dogs.
