Vaccination
Lepto: Leptosporosis is a disease caused by bacteria that can be found in contaminated soil/water. Dogs can be infected if their mucus membranes or an open wound on the skin comes in contact with infected urine, urine contaminated soil, water, food or bedding. Signs of disease are very non-specific and can be mild to life threatening. This disease is zoonotic meaning it can be passed to humans. Vaccination is the key for prevention.
Animals get heartworms from mosquitos. Just one bite from an infected mosquito can give an animal heartworm disease.
Behavioral Disorder Treatment
FVRCP: This vaccine protects cats from three viral diseases called rhinotracheitis, calicivirus and panleukopenia. Rhinotracheitis is caused by the herpes virus and causes upper respiratory symptoms like sneezing, runny nose and crusty eyes. Calicivirus causes similar respiratory symptoms. Panleukopenia is commonly referred to as feline distemper and is highly contagious life-threatening viral disease.
We offer laboratory services in house and through a referral laboratory. Our bloodwork machines will analyze your pet’s complete blood count, checking for red and white blood cell counts, and platelet counts. Our chemistry panel will check all of your pet’s organ functions, electrolytes, and blood sugar.Lab work is important in many situations including helping to diagnose the cause of your pet’s sickness or as important screening for diseases. Lab work is also important for any pet that is going to undergo anesthesia. Yearly bloodwork on geriatric patients may help detect a disease process before your pet starts showing signs of that disease.
X-Ray
We offer digital radiography to get the best quality images of your pet. Radiographs help us to diagnose many different disease processes such as broken bones, heart and lung disease, or abnormalities in the of the stomach and/or intestines.
Microchipping
A microchip is a small chip placed between the shoulder blades of your pet that contains a specific number registered to your pet. If your beloved family member were ever to get lost, any vet or animal shelter could scan their chip and be able to reunite you and your family member back together.
