Medicaid dentist at its worst!! They are horrible in the following areas:



1) Billing- friendly advise, If you go there and have any kind of state assistance, know they will attempt to bill you. Run if they try. State of CT is strict on the idea of no balance billing and they are not not suppose to collect a dime.The way they do this is by telling you that the procedures that need pre approval are hung up in channels with the state. I finally called the state after Aspen dental told me I needed 5000 dollars in dental work, to find out that the procedures had been approved. The state told me that they had heard of companies doing that as a way to increase revenue.



2) Service- They left a tooth with a HUGE hole in it, refusing to fill it, telling me it needed a crown. The wait for the crown was so long now the tooth next to as well is involved and both will need a root canal and crown. The crowns they put in were done wrong, as a cavity under one of the crowns has formed.I have been told this only happens when the crown is incorrectly applied. They tell me that the crown will have to be removed,the tooth fixed and the crown re applied, about 1000 dollars out of pocket.



3) Customer service- When confronted with these issues, ismiles only reply was"You owe us 2000 dollars for the crowns we already placed in your mouth, will you be making a payment today?" First, I just want to say I regularly asked about the balance on the bill and was told a different number every time. Finally, at or about December I was told I had a zero balance. I asked for that in writing and received one piece of paper that stated such. I also had my boyfriend listening when they told me of the zero balance. I was sent no statements and told nothing different until these issues arose.



And where is Dr. Ali, the owner of ismiles? She is hiding in Avon, at her parent company of Dental arts of Avon, She is refusing to return calls. Her "receptionist" is indigent telling me I have no right to be upset about any of this or to even call her.



Ismiles ruined my teeth, don't let them do the same to yours.

While working on my root canal the drill kept coming apart and the dentist didn't remove all of the nerves from my tooth which impacted and caused an infection. I was told I would two root canals and didn't even need the one they did. I would never return or recommend anyone to have work done in this office. It should be against the law to have this place open to the public!
