Dental Examination

Excellent dentistry begins with a comprehensive examination of your teeth and gums. Together, we can determine the most favorable way to achieve and maintain a healthy mouth.

Teeth Cleaning
The first step in getting rid of gum disease is a regular dental cleaning. After that, we will perform scaling and root planing. This is a special cleaning that removes plaque and tartar from under the gumline and smoothes the root surfaces to promote healing. In most cases, if you receive scaling and root planing and resume regular oral care, your gum disease will resolve.

Fillings
Resin Composite
Dental fillings are used to fill cavities and repair cracked or broken teeth. Fillings can be done with gold, porcelain, or silver amalgam, but is most commonly done with materials called composite resin fillings that are designed to match the color of your teeth.
Veneers
Because veneers require removing a very thin amount of enamel, they are usually permanent. Porcelain has the advantage over resin veneers in that it does not stain and is stronger and less prone to chipping. Esthetics are idealized because the technician can manipulate the veneers on a model rather than in the patient’s mouth. The patient comes for an initial visit to shape the teeth to accept the veneers and have the models made for the lab technician. The patient then returns for a subsequent visit to have their custom, hand layered, veneers permanently cemented using a special cement.
Crowns
Pellegrni Dental offers fabrication of single visit crowns, inlays, and onlays. Following digital scan of the prepared tooth, restorations start as an ingot of ceramic. An ingot is chosen specifically for the patient’s tooth.
Bridges
Dental Bonding
Dental bonding is the procedure where we apply a tooth colored plastic material to a patient’s tooth. Using a special light, the material hardens and bonds the material to the tooth.
Restorative Dentistry

Dental implants are a two-step process that require both a surgical and restorative phase. Formerly, the surgical portion of this procedure would have been referred to another office, however, Dr. Peter Pellegrini has taken a keen interest to provide this service for our patients. He has teamed with the leading brand in the field of dental implants, Nobel Biocare, and completed continuing education courses with the Digital Dentistry Institute for surgical placement of dental implants. We are proud to now offer most dental implant surgery cases in our own office ensuring convenience, comfort, and quality.

Oral Surgery
Tooth Extractions
An extraction is performed to remove a tooth, whether because of disease, crowding, or damage. When extractions are required, the area around the tooth will be numbed and your dentist will remove the tooth. A small amount of bleeding is normal, as your mouth will replace the removed tooth root by forming a blood clot in the area.
Bone Grafting
Bone grafting is a procedure where we replace the missing bone in your jaw. There are three types: autogenous, allograft, and xenograft.

Orthodontics
Veneers are thin shells intended to cover the front surface of teeth to enhance a patient’s smile. Unlike smile enhancement by orthodontics, veneers hide stains, damage, decay, or irregularities of the teeth enhancing the smile and idealizing symmetry, color and shape. Veneers can be made in two ways: in the dental chair using additive resin hand layered by the dentist, or by a dental technician who use a model created by the dentist to make a custom shell out of special materials.

Teeth Whitening
Options for teeth whitening usually include whitening toothpastes, at-home bleaching, and in-office bleaching. Of course effectiveness, safety, and results vary greatly between products, so consult with your dentist if you are considering these choices.
