Little Learner'ss Daycare

My husband and I met with Sonya to interview and decided if her daycare would be a good fit for our baby-on-the way and our family values. We felt very welcomed, and comfortable with her home and the fact she had a full-time assistant put us even more at ease. 2 weeks before my due date, and after she reassured us that she was holding an infant spot for us, she sent us a text saying "I just had a family inform me they are pregnant, I apologize I no longer have an infant opening available. If something comes up, I'll keep you in mind". There was no phone call, just a text message. When I called to explain that this had now placed us in a position of choosing between my employer and my child, as well as expressed my frustration with her lack of professionalism it was as if it didn't even phase her. To top this, her assistant then texted me to defend her actions, which to me shows lack of maturity. I additionally asked, what would have happened if the same scenario occurred 2 weeks prior to my child starting daycare? That question was never answered by her or the assistant, instead my character was personally attacked, I was accused of being one-sided, gossiping, and then it was suggested to me that I search for a new outlook on life. I wanted to make sure that other prospective parents knew our story so they won't fall into the same trap we did: the trap of security one second, and the rug being ripped out from under you the next. This experience completely changed my views on looking for a caring child care provider, in fact it has caused both my husband and I to put our guard up higher as we have learned nothing is guaranteed.
