Pediatric Care
Although internists are primary care physicians, they are not family physicians, family practitioners, or general practitioners whose training is not solely concentrated on adults and may include surgery, obstetrics and pediatrics.
Primary Care

Family Practice
Alex has worked in a primary care setting for several years including family practice, internal medicine, and gynecology. She has also worked in nursing education and was vital in helping to develop one of the nation's first 12 month Accelerated BSN programs. After several years of working as a Certified Nurse Practitioner, Alex decided to further her education and received her Doctorate degree from Georgia Baptist in 2019. Since obtaining her Doctorate degree, Alex has continued to follow her passion in the field of primary care / internal medicine seeing patients of all ages for various conditions.
Emergency Care
Narcotic pain medications will at no time be called in to your pharmacy after hours. All refill requests must be made during regular office hours. If you develop severe pain, please feel free to call our office, and we will be happy to assist you with a non-narcotic pain medicine or direct you to an emergency room or an urgent care facility.

Alexandra "Alex" Stouffer Ruiz is a board-certified nurse practitioner who received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Georgia Baptist College of Nursing of Mercer University in 2011 where she was a member of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society. She began her career as a labor and delivery registered nurse for several years ultimately ending at Northside Hospital, which is the busiest Labor and Delivery unit in the country. She pursued her master's degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Georgia Baptist College of Nursing in 2014 while continuing to work as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse. There she was a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.

Ultrasound
We require 24 hour notice for appointment cancellations. Please be aware that there is a $75.00 fee for missing a scheduled physical, new patient appointment, or hospital follow up visit. We also charge $25.00 for missed regular appointments. Due to the fact that we have an outside company performing certain ultrasounds in the office, there is a missed appointment fee of $75 for missed ultrasound appointments. These charges are your responsibility and are not billed to your insurance company. Please help us in serving you better by keeping your scheduled appointments or by giving 24 hour notice (week days only) before any cancellation.

Liz is a board certified Nurse Practitioner that has been providing excellent healthcare in the community for over 20 years. She received her RN degree and her Masters from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. Her vast experience includes critical care nursing, cardiology, geriatric, wound care, preventative care, chronic disease management, urgent care, and primary care. She is passionate about her patients and ensures thorough, detail-oriented care supported by evidence-based medicine.

J. Kent Phillips, PA-C is a native of metropolitan Atlanta. During his Undergraduate studies, he studied both business and basic sciences earning a Bachelor of Business Administration from Georgia State University. After this, Kent pursued his passion for medicine and went on to further his knowledge in healthcare earning a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at West Liberty University in West Virginia. He served as President of his Physician Assistant class while at West Liberty University. Since entering practice, he has worked in both Neurosurgery and Internal Medicine.
