Lookout Motor Lodge

I've stayed in motels and hotels all over the world including many inexpensive ones in underdeveloped countries. This is the first place I have stayed that was so dirty that I wouldn't even use the shower! I asked for a nonsmoking room and was shown to one so smoky, I couldn't even walk in. I was then shown to another room with loose, visible dirt on the floor and the sink with a nonfunctioning toilet. The third and final room was just as dirty and, although I was told it was a nonsmoking room, there was a full and dirty ashtray on the dresser. Only desparate exhaustion convinced me to stay. I refused to remove my socks, left without trying out the filthy shower, and replaced my toothbrush upon leaving. This motel makes the youth hostel surrounded by barbed wire on the Israeli border look like a 5 star hotel.
