Calvary Chapel Christian School is an elementary and secondary school based in Downey, Calif. The school offers Christian education from grades kindergarten through 12 and enrolls more than 1,000 students every year. It features a Christian philosophy of education, phonics and math. Calvary Chapel Christian School employs more than 45 classroom teachers to conduct Bible classes, weekly chapel and classes in a wide range of academic areas. The school is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International. It also holds membership of the California Interscholastic Federation and participates in its league sports. The school provides an independent study program for all students and their families involved in home schooling.
