American AC & Refrigeration

Dreadful service. My building manager called this company for me when the ac in my vacation until went down. Nelson does not speak a word of English so I couldn't communicate with him properly. I wrote out the problem and put it through a translation prog on my computer but he wasn't interested in reading it. Charged me $200, didn't give me an invoice or fault report and after he left I realized the unit still wasn't working. I called but due to not speaking the same language we couldn't communicate. I sent him a text in Spanish asking him to get someone who speaks English to call but he kept calling me even though we couldn't communicate. in the end I had to get my friend who speaks a little Spanish to call. He returned with a technician who did speak English, who told me that they had regassed the item but it appeared to have a leak. They said they fixed it and it would be OK. I returned to England a couple of days later and the apartment was empty. On my return last week I found that the unit - as previous - was working on fan only but not cooling the air. I sent Nelson a text in Spanish asking for him to get someone who spoke English to call as the unit wasn't working again. After a few days I received a call from his office saying he would call between 12 and 1. I stayed in the stifling apartment waiting for him. By 2.30 he hadn't arrived so I rang the number for the English speaking person. She said he had been held up and would be there by 3.30. I said that I thought they probably shouldn't have repaired the unit as it is old and maybe beyond repair and that I would be happy to buy a new unit so long as they would fit it for free in leiu of the money Id paid for the failed repair. The lady was very rude and said that as several weeks had passed it was clearly a new fault! I was insistant that it wasn't as the apartment hadn't been used so she said maybe It had broke because it had been switched off for several weeks! Nelson wasn't here by 4pm so I called again and kept calling until 6.30 but my calls were ignored. At 9pm a small child called me to say Nelson was his dad and that his car had broken down but he would definitely be here at 9.30am this morning. I explained that he needed to be punctual as I wasn't prepared to waste another day waiting for him in a stifling hot apt. It's woman who speaks English hasn't called, I have made numerous phone calls which have not been answered. This outfit is a disgrace, do not use them under any circumstances. I am making a complaint to BBB.

Unreliable and unprofessional. I called this company to repair my refrigerator and after spending close to $700.00, loosing all of my perishables and a week into the repair...I still have a NON-WORKING refrigerator and the owner/ technician NELSON PAEZ will not answer any of my phone calls. I now find myself obligated to purchase a new unit. I would not recommend any one call this company. I am now filing a claim agains this company and taking them to small claims court.
