Dental Sealants
When we apply a dental sealant, we paint a plastic coating on top of your teeth. This makes your teeth smooth getting rid of the rough edges, depressions, and grooves that are commonly found on teeth. It is essentially a protective coating against tooth decay and cavities.

Fillings
Veneers
Porcelain Veneers are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve appearance. These shells are bonded to the front of the teeth changing their color, shape, size, or length. We recommend this treatment to anyone experiencing discoloration that cannot be fixed with whitening or if your teeth are damaged. Crowns
Getting porcelain crowns is the best way to have a very natural looking smile. They are used when simply filling in a tooth is not an option. There are times when they decay is so bad that we just have to use a porcelain crown. We also use them with severely damaged teeth or teeth that have already had multiple fillings. Dental bonding is the procedure where we apply a tooth colored plastic material to a patient’s tooth. Using a special light, the material hardens and bonds the material to the tooth.
Restorative Dentistry

Root Canal Treatment
Root canals are needed when decay and bacteria spread for too long without treatment. At a certain point, this decay makes it to the pulp inside the tooth. This pulp includes nerves, therefore infection generally causes a lot of pain. Since this is happening on the inside of the tooth, you won’t necessarily see the damage. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
Dr. Pelster grew up in a small town in Western Nebraska and later attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for his undergraduate studies in Nutrition Science. He later attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center – College of Dentistry for his dental education. Dr. Pelster continued his education by completing an advanced education in general dentistry program at the Bay Pines VA Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. Dr. Pelster had the honor of caring for the hospital’s veteran population while learning advanced techniques and procedures in endodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, and implant dentistry. Upon completion of this program, Dr. Pelster moved to Colorado and eventually settled in Summit County. He strives to provide quality and comfortable care for all of his patients. In his free time, he enjoys exercising, skiing, hiking, and reading.
Maxillofacial Surgery
Richard McLain was born in Iowa. He attended the University of Iowa for his undergraduate education as well as dental school. Dr. McLain graduated from dental school in 1996. He then completed a one year surgical internship at the University of Nebraska. After internship, Dr. McLain practiced as a general dentist for two years in Denver, Littleton and Castle Rock. Dr. McLain entered the Oral & Maxillofacial Residency Program at Denver Health Medical Center in 1999. He completed this 4 year program in 2003. After this residency, he completed a Cleft Lip and Palate Craniofacial Fellowship at the children’s hospital in Cuernavaca, Mexico. He then entered private practice in the Denver Metro area. Dr. McLain is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He is a member of the American Board of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and Colorado Society of Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons. He also volunteers his time with the Rose Medical Center Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Center. In his free time, Dr. McLain enjoys spending time in the mountains, brewing beer and attempting to complete home improvement projects in a timely manner.
