Overall

I brought my 2011 GM Sierra Crew Cab in for scheduled CPO service while I was home on vacation. There was a seat shim on the rear seat that was broken and needed to be replaced. I was charged $157 for the shim to be replaced. No big deal, right? Wrong. The one installed was the wrong part. Now, the rear seat rattles worse than before.

Second thing: The dash was cracked above the cluster by one of the airbags. It was explained to me this happens from time to time and was covered under the warranty. I work in the Middle East and was getting ready to go back to work, but I explained someone would be able to bring the truck in to get the dash fixed. I asked at least twice before I left to make sure there would be no charge for this and was assured I would not have to pay anything out of pocket to have the dash fixed. I told the service rep to go ahead and order the part. My father would bring the truck to the dealership and have the dash fixed. The first time he went there (I was already back at work by this time), he was informed the part had not been ordered. This was despite me telling the service rep to order it before I left. The second time he took the truck to the dealership, he was told they would not be able to get to it that day because the service department was busy doing work on program and rental vehicles. The service department was finally able to get the dash piece installed the third time the truck was brought in, but they tried to charge my father a service charge. They only backed off when he raised hell and Art, the service manager, apologized for the confusion and said there would be no charge.

When he got the truck home, my father noticed a small plastic piece missing off the bottom of the dash to one side by the heater outlets. He took the truck back to the dealership; they said the stereo installation shop must have done that. (I did have a custom stereo system installed by Empress on Hwy 49 in Gulfport, MS.) He took the truck to Empress; they showed him where they ran the cables for the system, and it was nowhere near where the plastic piece is missing. For them to run the cables where the piece is missing is too much work because they would have to remove the seat and all the carpet in the truck. Whomever the tech at Mandal's was that put the dash piece in either broke or lost the little plastic piece and refuses to own up to it. The dash was not like that when I left Empress, and this piece was not missing or broken when I brought the truck in for the 30k mile service a few days before I left.

Overall

We came to the area and were staying in an RV park. Having trouble with our truck we stopped in. Once the decision to purchase a new on was made, they were so nice to do all they could to get things in order for us. This was more complicated because we live out of state. But we felt they were truly concerned with our satisfaction.
