Service

Alright, time for a REAL review of Cypress in D'Iberville.

The service here is extremely good. The front desk is very nice and talkative, and quick to call for service if anything goes wrong. Be it pin jam, ball stuck in the back-whatever. I saw someone complaining that they "don't oil the lanes." Typically a house bowling alley will oil the lanes at the start of the day and let it run throughout the day. Only cleaning and re-oiling the lanes for tournaments and League. This means that if you want to bowl on fresh lanes on any other day of the week, you need to go early in the day so that the lanes still have a pattern on them. Be it a lot of people bowling on them or just oil evaporating due to the heat of the lights, etc. The system is very easy to use so just reading the screen up top voids any reason to have to go up and ask the desk how to do something. Be it changing a score, taking off a player, or even putting the bumpers up. My favorite feature is being able to set the lane up for a specific shot to practice it. Bowling rates are good, too. Specially on cosmic nights where you just want to relax and shoot.

The Pro Shop runner, Greg is very knowledgeable in the sport with a ton of rings to back him. An Amateur Circuit player, he leagues at the house and holds still a very high 220+ average. He's very nice and always open to answer questions and help your game. I bowl league at this alley and when I'm having some difficulty and cant figure out what to do, he's the guy I go to. He doesn't just run a shop, he knows the game.

The food is better than most alleys I've been to and the prices aren't bad either.

The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because sometimes, whoever oils the lanes, it's not done consistently. It can be just right for a few weeks, and then completely soaked another. They're never dry when they're fresh, but they can damn sure be over oiled. I'm not sure if it's the machine or the person running it, but it needs to be corrected.

Don't even think about going here for open bowling.

They don't oil the lanes except for league.

Great to bring kids they don't know or care about oil on the lanes.

Do not bowl here. When this bo...

Do not bowl here. When this bowling ally opened up it had finger snaping service. It has perfomed very poorly since. The guest service is not up to current national standerds. When purchasing food and beverage items the squence of service lacks from the start. No hello how are you and after items are paid for no thank you in fact I found myself saying thankyou after reciving service.

The over all employee morel at this bowling ally is very low. That means employess are not happy to be employed at this location. this effects the overall experiance. It will be interesting to see how long this kind self destruction can last before it takes another tumble in guest service or maintence.

Perfect Part Setting

My daughter had her 10th birthday party at Cypress Lanes, and it was wonderful. This is the easiest party I have ever hosted for my children. The young lady assigned to our party served the pizza to the children while I served the drinks. Then she served the cake as I cut it. She was so helpful, allowing my husband and I to enjoy the party. The setting was great, because we had the party room for 1 hour then we bowled for 1 hour. Our "party representative" took the size for each child's shoes and brought them to the party room, so the children finished their cake, got their shoes and went to the lane. It was very well organized, and the pizza was really good, too. My daughter had a wonderful time, and my husband and I were not stressed at all. I even cheated and gave quarters in a bag instead of party favors....that allowed the children to play the games and cash in their tickets for their own favors. They even helped me get the names in the computer. The employees were very helpful, and the day was grand! Thank you Cypress Lanes!

Not for Adults

Maybe it was the time of day but the place was crowded with tons or kids and teens, which is fine but not when you trying to bowl. When you pay $20 plus dollars to bowl you want to be able to bowl and enjoy yourself. I'm not saying I hate kids I have a couple myself but when we asked to be moved the staff said there is nothing can do for us they have to keep us on the lanes we were on. We were barely able to bowl one game in our hour and there was 3 of us. The place is clean and has a nice apperance but when you are paying to do something you hope to able to do it. Maybe after the novelty/newness of place wears off I'll go back, but during a school day.

Not for a true bowler

If you are someone who really enjoys bowling I wouldn't recommend this bowling alley. I’m not a professional bowling but there is certain things that you need to make a bowling outing enjoyable. Went to open bowl and have a little fun, the staff places right next to a family of 4 with small children. I'm fine with that but not too many 4 year olds know lane etiquette. After waiting for the family to wrangle their kids and 7 minutes of our $18 hour is wasted I get to throw. That is where disaster almost happened, the approaches are way too slippery (tested them prior to bowling and adjusted for it), but now add a four old running up on a lane while you are falling and you have an accident. Brought up our concerns up to the staff about the approaches and spacing they said they could do nothing for us, maybe we should slowdown our approach more. The family left 20 minutes later, what does the staff do, put another family next to us. For $18 dollars we bowled 1 game and left 15 minutes early it wasn’t worth it, too dangerous and not enjoyable. Yes they are a family fun business I understand that but I would recommend to watch your step on the approaches.
