The College of Nursing is an integral part of Wayne State University, a research institution classified as a doctoral-extensive research university by the Carnegie Foundation. Nearly 600 students, faculty and staff comprise the College of Nursing, which is located in Detroit. The College of Nursing is known for its research in nursing within its focal areas, and faculty research is supported by the college s Center for Health Research, the first nursing research facility of its kind. The college is internationally recognized for preparing graduate and undergraduate students to become nurse leaders, scholars and researchers. It offers bachelor s and master s degrees in adult health, nursing education, women health, community health nursing and critical care. Its research program focuses on nursing and health-related research, including interdisciplinary research for the purpose of advancing nursing knowledge and improving nursing and health.
