Based on information on a nice website I took a Viking machine to this business to be diagnosed and repaired. The Website stated a Viking trained technician was on site. They also advertise free estimates, "Professionalism" and quick turnaround which were appealing. The free estimate turned into no idea what was wrong with the machine and a standard $99 charge to go through the machine. I believe they said it would be sent out but I'm not sure of that as it was not very well communicated. Apparently the Viking Service Training Graduate was not there as they were all puzzled by this machine. I was told the service would take at least 2 weeks which was counter to the fast turn around, in store service proclaimed on the Website. They never tried using the machine nor did they even turn it on. They said the $99 service would "probably" correct the problem (which was unknown) but if not, there would be an additional $30 charge.

Through all this the 3+ people and a dog were like a loud circus behind the counter. When one of them wasn't yelling at the dog to "shutup" they were interrupting me or another employee with another opinion or comment. They appeared to be trying to out talk each other. When I asked for advice on sewing a specific type of common upholstery seam none of them seemed interested in my question or knew anything about it. They criticized the thread I used saying it was garbage (it is a well known brand) and told me I should throw the project out and just buy a new one. My project is a small antique couch I am reupholstering and I am more than halfway complete.

To say the least, I am extremely disappointed and surprised that a local business acts this way. Maybe I just caught all 4 or 5 of them on a bad day but then again you should be able to act in a professional manner when you are in a business that is based on customer service. I find it hard to believe the customer comments on their Website actually pertain to this business. Those "customers" had a far different experience than I did.

After taking the machine home and trying different settings, I was able to correct the problem myself. So, it was a pretty simple issue. Maybe if they had taken a minimal interest in my problem and had tried to run the machine they would have solved the problem then. Or maybe not. I would NOT recommend this business to anyone.

I read above review with interest. I had a direct opposite experience. They fixed my machine and it runs better than when it was new. The folks there know their stuff and were very through in explaining what the problem was and the cost. I cannot sing their praises enough. They definitely are very good at what they do and know.n I HIGHLY RECOMMEND

DO NOT TAKE MACHINE THERE FOR REPAIR! If I could give a negative 5 stars I would. I brought my machine in for a repair, they called to let me know it was complete. I brought it home used it for about 5 minutes and knew if was not working right. I took it back within a week to let them know that it was not working. The repair person that I learned was the owner came out with an attitude. As I was trying to talk to her she kept walking away. Instead of saying lets look at it she got defensive and started blaming me for it not working. I said I only used it for less than 5 minutes but she did not want to hear it. She began to yell which caused me to start to yell. I have never gotten to that point with a person before, because I was a business owner but she would not stop blaming me instead of just offering to fix it. I didn't care if I had to pay something else for a part but she never even gave me that option.

I went to this store and was totally enamored with this place. They laughed and joked and made me feel comfortable.

My machine was repaired in the time they told me it would be, which was 2 weeks, and it worked like a charm. Guess the previous reviewer never had his machine repaired. Most other places take a month or more and you have no idea what the price will be at all.

I had to write this after seeing the previous review. Why would someone think because someone works at a sewing store, they know how to do upholstery? One is totally unrelated to the other.

I would highly recommend this place as a breath of fresh air. They do great work and make shopping there an event. It is definitely not like the sterile chain stores and has personality plus.
