Family Synergy Mediation

Do not use Family Synergy Mediation. Going through a divorce is an unpleasant, uncomfortable and an emotionally sensitive process. I felt that the mediator, Tom Davis, was insensitive, uncommunicative and unprofessional. To be fair, the mediation process itself went well. However, we paid the mediator to also compose our separation agreement. Not only was the agreement 3 days late, the mediator would not return calls or answer the phone until I called from a number that was not my own. Unfortunately, my soon to be ex and I had to submit corrections to our separation agreement (which we were really hoping we would not have to do considering the mediator's previous tardiness and lack of communication). Corrections etc were included in the flat $300 documentation fee. The mediator STILL has not replied to us (one week later): no email saying he has received our request for corrections, no email saying when we can expect the corrections, no return calls--nothing. After paying for mediation and the preparation of our documents (which according to the facilitator at the Initial Status Conference was a large sum of money in comparison to other mediation services), my ex and I had to HAND WRITE our corrections on our separation agreement and submit them to the court. Going through a divorce is not an easy process. If you want less stress with mediation and document preparation, I would recommend getting referrals from the court or speaking with other people who have had a good experience. I would NOT recommend Family Synergy Mediation.
