SCAMMERS, LIARS, CHEATS

Our son took his laptop to this place (now located on Teasley near the UNT and TWU campuses; they probably moved because word got around how they scam college kids) to get his laptop repaired, in NOVEMBER 2008. It's January, 2009 and they're still not returning the laptop which was never fixed. They charged us for the work but never performed it. We had to involve our credit card company to get our money back but now, they are refusing to give us our property back - HOW IS THIS NOT THEFT OF PROPERTY? They claim our credit card company took the money out of their account without authorization but we called and guess what! There's no way to do that. It's a lie! The transaction has to be authorized for the money to move from one account to the other.

Our son contacts them almost daily. They're never at the shop or they simply do not return his phone calls. They outright lie about the status of your repair.

At one point, we spoke to them on our son's behalf (it is OUR laptop and we are PAYING for the repair if it ever happens) and they offered to just buy the laptop for parts. WHAT? For all I know, they have stripped it and sold off the parts at 3 times the value! I bet they would've low-balled us on an offer too! Why else is it taking them so long to gather up the components, put them back in, and hand over OUR PROPERTY to our son?

In December, they were to return the laptop to our son before they closed (they asked he be there at that time). He sat outside for an hour, from 8 to 9 p.m. only to have NO ONE show up. They have no integrity. Their word means NOTHING.

If you have a college kid at UNT or TWU, don't let your child make the same mistake and go to cheapest geeks. They'll get taken advantage of and you'll be stuck paying court costs to get your property back.

I would not even rate them ONE star but YellowPages requires at least one. I do NOT recommend TheCheapestGeeks in Denton, Texas EVER!

We now are filing a theft report with the Denton Justice of the Peace so we can get our laptop (who knows if all the parts are even there now) returned and fixed locally by a reputable repair shop!

Don't Use These People!!

This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They have repeatedly lied to me about my computer and charged me twice. I have yet to recieve my computer and its been almost 4 months. They never will give me a straight answer on where my computer is, if its fixed, or anything. Their shop is suppose to open at 9am and not once has it ever been open at that time. I went one day at 9:30 and it wasn't open, then 10:30, then noon. They never return any phone calls I have made to them. They refuse to give me my computer and a refund therefore I have had to involve the police. If you want to save yourself time, money and bs, go somewhere else. Any place has to be better than the idiots that run Cheapest Geeks.

I agree

This guy charged me twice what i was quoted and would never give me a receipt, so I had to check on my bank statement to finally realize how much i was ripped off. I've also been waiting over 6 months for a refund on parts returned to this company. I call repeatedly, but the owner lies to me and has yet to give the refund. I also would suggest going anywhere, but here.

Buyer Beware

Worst experience I ever had. They charge over 1300 dollars which we paid to fix 10 computer. However it took them over 2 months to return them even after we paid the bill. Guess what they weren't fixed. On the others they used different model parts and then would not put the software needed to make them operational, but still charged us. Finally, we had to pay someone else 600 dollars just to fix their mistakes. They charged us for parts that didnt need to be replaced, they charged us for labor that didnt need to be done. When called them on it. They avoided us then lied to us, then returned the merchandise 60 days late after we got the police involved. If you want to lose money and have poor service then use these guys. If you want your merchandise fixed at a reasonable price then I reccomend anyone else. Good Luck!
