Cash America Pawn - Pawn Shops & Loans

I wouldn't have given this place even one star but I had no choice. So the one star is for the new employee (female) that I met and had no problem with as she seemed to be an asset to an otherwise rip-off and customer unfriendly establishment.



First of all, I had been a customer with this place for over 3-years. Notice I say HAD because I will NEVER step foot in this place again. I have literally sold just about every piece of jewelry that I owned to these people at prices that were horribly embarrassing to me. I fell into some bad times and was forced to sell all my diamond jewelry. I didn't even get a fourth of what my items were worth from these con-artists. These people are rude, not compassionate and they are liars and thieves.



For example my latest dealings with these people.... I had my guitar on loan. They gave me a $300 for my $1800 Taylor guitar. I had it pawned for several months. I wasn't getting anywhere close to paying this down as I was only paying $50 per month on it so I tried to pay it down by making a $200 payment. I was told when I paid it down it would decrease the interest which it never did. I went in last month to make a payment of $100 and the sales associate (no longer working there) and the manager (Roy Aguilar) told me that I could extend the payment for a month and pick the guitar up for $239 the following month. When I went in to pay the loan off and pick up the guitar the price had jumped to nearly.$270. You have to pay with cash so I only had $239. Most of the former employees had left or been fired so everyone was new and Roy was not there. They would not take my cash in exchange for my guitar. In tears I explained to them that I had been in last month and talked to Roy and he gave me the exact pay-off price for the item which was highlighted in yellow on my receipt. $239!!!



They were extremely rude insisting that the price for pickup on my receipt was incorrect and that maybe I misunderstood Roy. Really? I was furious! I asked the assistant manager to call Roy. He did and Roy did nothing. Long story short (many more stories to tell about but not enough time or space here for that). See for yourself...go to google and see the negative ratings there. Bottom line....DONT TAKE YOUR ITEMS TO THIS SHOP. There are other pawn shops in Denton that are friendly and fair. Do your homework because this place doesn't care about its customers, they lie and rip you off. The communication at this place is horrible!!! Thanks for reading and good luck.
