Deary Community Bible Church

This is the most radically dysfunctional and toxic church I have ever seen in my entire ministry. Last year, this church invited my family and I to pastoral candidate. It was not easy flying from Chicago to Seattle and then from there to Idaho all with three babies and early hours in the morning.

We were there for a week. We then get told by the leadership the day before we head home, "We don't think we can afford to pay your salary." The elders then went on to make other very rude comments that were highly inappropriate. I could not believe what I was hearing. If it was true that they couldn't pay me (which after looking at their budget, I believe was dubious--unless their budget was doctored) why was I even flown out there? What kind of church does that? If Microsoft flew an executive out and then said in the interview, "Thanks for coming but we don't think we can pay you" it would be all over the front page of the news.

And then they didn't want my wife to work outside the home (to them that was an unqualification for being an elder) but somehow I was supposed to work full time as a pastor for free?

Needless to say, things didn't work out for which I am grateful for. As of the date of this review, this church is still without a full time pastor and has successfully driven away every pastor they have talked to in the past three years. My conclusion is that they cannot be led. One of their own board members left this church after being a part of it for 35 years after this debacle happened last year.

This church is simply stagnant and in my opinion, is not honoring the Lord. The church leadership truly do not know how to lead a church and are not qualified to do so. They do not even feel they need to meet the financial needs of their pastor (1 Tim. 5:17,18).

I would not go near this church.

Six months ago we started "shopping" for a church in the Deary area. Our first stop was DCBC. We were very impressed with the scripture knowledge of Jared Donigian and his passion for the Lord. The congregation is very friendly and this is now our church. Couldn't be happier or more blessed!

Been 45 yrs since I attended Church and a recent life changing event has me believing in GOD anew. Have been attending for 3 months straight now. They have one of the best preacher's in the Northwest in Jared Donigian. His delivery is animated and knowledge of God refreshing. I wouldn't miss one of his sermon's. Hope the Church can keep a man of his talent.

As far as the preacher's comments from Minnesota I feel they were very negative and deflamatory. Glad he is not here.
