        J.McLaughlin's Danville store is located downtown on Hartz Avenue at the Danville Hotel. "Live Locally" is the town moto and fits in perfectly with the mission statement of J.McLaughlin. Downtown Danville is a go-to spot for dinner, drinks, and shopping. The locals here also love to walk, run, and bike through the many trails that surround the town, some leading up to the very top of Mount Diablo. Danville's historical society is all about celebrating heritage by placing historical plaques on local buildings throughout the town, and the building that houses our local J.McLaughlin store even received a special plaque in 2017. When in town, the local farmers' market is a great place to be on Saturday mornings.. Bridges is located in downtown Danville, known for being home to filming the 1993 hit film Mrs. Doubtfire starring the late, great Robin Williams. Beyond the silver screen, Norm's is a popular "watering hole" with great food and plenty of craft beers on tap. Another local go-to is Sideboard, which is just around the corner and serves up Instagram-worthy breakfast and lunch dishes. Meanwhile, Prospect Avenue is a prime boutique shopping avenue. "The Ave" is home to Danville Chocolates, a candy store serving sweet confections including caramel and chocolate-covered apples. Lastly, the local bookstore, Rakestraw Books, is a family owned-and-operated bookstore that has been a staple of Danville since 1973.
