Jacobs Overhead Door

This company is used by Costco. I have found everyone I have come in contact with helpful and professional. I was surprised to see the 1 star ratings and complaints. These go back to 2015, with the latest in 2018. I do know that Costco is very picky about whom they recommend.

Repairman came out to repair as our door opener switch intermittently works ....he snipped off a corner of a wire, reinstalled, and working.....of course, after he leaves, its not working!!! Called, explained, but was told, they dont do electrical work and I would need a electrician. I explained that perhaps (I dont know) that perhaps contacts may need replacement etc...they didnt want to come out, unless I pay another $100.00, as I did the first time. Got a new switch from amazon, replaced myself, everything fine so far. This company a waste of my time....

I see many negative reviews for Jacobs Overhead Door on Telge but I don't get where these are coming from. There are a few Overhead Garage Door repair companies, so perhaps the name has confused some. Our garage door spring failed several weeks back. We called a company to give an estimate and that company was Overhead Garage Door Repair. Short story, they wanted $410 to replace 2 springs. I then asked around & was led to Jacobs Overhead Door, Inc. I made a call on Friday 9/2/16 and found they carry the springs we need but were about to close, but that they would stay open until we were able to p/u the springs. We arrived about 20 min. after closing. The owners were available and took time with us to answer any questions. On Saturday we called about another part. The phone was answered and question was answered cordially. We were treated superbly! We WILL return to Jacobs in the future & highly recommend for any DIY’ers out there like us. Garage repaired: $120!!

Needed a new circuit board for my Liftmaster garage door opener. Took my old one in and told them that I needed a replacement. I made sure to take the old one in since they do not accept returns. I installed the new circuit board and my garage door worked again but the pin pad outside the garage and the clickers I had would not program. I did research on the unit he sold me and the circuit that he sold me was way older than the one that I originally had so the pin pad and clickers that I have are not compatible with the older model. This is a garage door place it's not Sears so clearly they KNEW that they were giving me a older model and failed to tell me that I would have to purchase new clickers and a new pin pad. When I went back to tell them they sold me a older circuit board and failed to tell me that I would have to purchase new clickers and pin pads, they said they would give me one to try and if it worked I could purchase it for an additional $50. Worst customer service ever!!!

Jacob's overhead idiots should be their new name. I have tried for weeks to have a warranty replacement completed with no luck. The customer service is outright rude and unprofessional, the workers are non-English-speaking and untrained and I would love to see this company close its "overhead" doors for good. I will spread the word far and wide how inconsiderate and unaccommodating this company is. They sent out two untrained "professionals" who declined to work on my garage door in one day, 12 hours apart, and better yet, the "manager" decides to give me lip about it. If I could give zero stars I would, but I agree, 1/5 stars = "Hated it" is the truth.

We ordered a door for our new home and was told 2 weeks. 3 weeks go by NO ONE calls. We have to call them and was told another week. Still NO ONE calls after a week. Finally beginning of the next week comes and we got a call that our door has made it in and they will schedule for the next day.



The next day comes and the technician shows up with the door but tells me they do not have our opener, that they have to order it! We ordered the opener the same time we bought the door! Installer did the install



A week goes by and we get a call the opener has made it in. They scheduled for today from 9am- 1pm. They want us there so can pay last Payment. I took off work to be at the house form 9-1, NO ONE shows up, NO ONE even calls! We call the office to be told now the technician will be at our home from 2:30-3pm!

I wait at the house until 3:20 and still NO ONE shows up and NO ONE even calls us!!!!!



I had to leave at this point. Wasted over 6 hours already.



I get a call from my painters that the garage door tech showed up but said he couldn't install it because we had stuff in the way. He didn't show up until 4:07pm! He says there 3 pallets of tile was in his way. Which is crazy! It could have all been completed. Now their office is closed and can't get ahold of anyone so we have to wait yet again.



I explained when we purchased the door from Jacobs that this was a time pressing matter as the home was just built and we needed th garage door to be dried in and could lock everything up. We have had no garage door for weeks and now that we do, we have to pick up the door which is heavy as heck and it has no way to lock the door.





It's clear this company has NO respect for their customers.



We were a drive by and didn't research the company first. Come to find out they have a C with the BBB and bad reviews online. Do yourself a favor and choose a different garage door company.

90% or more of their technicians are illegal aliens. I know because I used to work there. I was the only u.s citizen working there. They may have good prices but you get what you pay for, an illegal alien who speaks no english. On top of this, their office staff is incompetant and lazy. Do not support this company's disregard for the law by giving them your money. Homeland security has already been notified of this and is investigating.

Called on Sunday (they are closed on Sunday). A representative called me back just after 8 am on Monday (she was super nice!) and the technician was at my house by 10 am to repair a broken spring on my garage door!! I had already gotten a quote from a competitor for MORE than DOUBLE the price. What a deal. The young man who fixed my garage spring was courteous, on time and efficient. I'm very happy with the service they provided!

When I called in for a service call, the lady that answered the phone sounded like I was bothering her and was very unprofessional. I actually thought about calling to cancel the service call because of her attitude.
