        The Animal Welfare Society of Allegany County, Maryland is a charitable, nonprofit organization. Since 1956, we have been dedicated to improving the quality of life for animals and informing the community about animal issues. The AWS works with the Allegany County Animal Shelter and Allegany County Department of Health as volunteers. We've raised money to help build a new Allegany County animal shelter, to support pet adoptions, to organize spay and neutering clinics, and much more. Thank you for visiting our website. Our Mission The AWS is dedicated to educating the public in all aspects of responsible pet ownership to alleviate animal suffering.
