Business History: Hospice of the Piedmont, one of the first hospice programs in North Carolina in the early 1980s, was established by a group of caring individuals motivated by a common concern for improving end-of-life care. The legacy of those volunteers is carried on today by a hardworking professional staff of 115+ supplemented by a large corps of active volunteers and community supporters.
