Some good. Some bad. Nice people but not much local news. Check out Journal Review at www.journalreview.com for local news and sports.

It is worth noting that The Paper of Montgomery County has opted to deliver via U.S. Mail since April, 2007. This has been done because postal rates (although higher per-piece than carrier delivery) represent a savings to the newspaper. No doubt this is due to low circulation.



In the end, the object of those who founded The Paper in 2004 was most likely to destroy the older Journal Review. Many of the original staff were former JR staffers with axes to grind. It is our understanding that the story of the Crawfordsville newspaper war is the subject of an upcoming book written by a JR insider. If true, it should be an interesting read.



The expected outcome: Both newspapers will lose the war and both could easily fail within a few years leaving a decent community with no daily newspaper.
