Holistic dentistry is a medical approach to dentistry that considers the effects dentistry has on the entire body. While traditional dentistry focuses only on the oral cavity, holistic dentistry looks at the patient as a whole and how the mouth relates to the rest of the body. Holistic dentists (also called "biological dentists") focus on the use of non-toxic restorative materials for dental work. At Holistic Dental Centers, we do not use mercury fillings (mercury amalgam) in our office. Mercury is the second most toxic element known to man. We use only materials that are healthful to the body. By using the most bio-compatible, aesthetic and functional materials available, we provide the highest quality of care to our patients without compromise. We have extensive training in biocompatibility through blood analysis, electrodermal screening (applied kinesiology), and we make sure to choose the very best material we can for each patient. Holistic dentist Dr. Carl McMillan specializes in safe mercury removal and holistic dentistry services including metal free fillings, crowns, and onlays, biocompatibility testing, cosmetic dentistry, and routine dental care.
