Located in Colorado Springs, Colo., North Middle School offers classes from grades six through eight. It offers curriculum in language arts, math, science, social studies, special education and reading. It also offers electives in choir, band, drama, technology, video production, physical education and orchestra. Additionally, the school offers an International Baccalaureate middle years program. North Middle School operates a resource center that houses audiovisual equipment, computer technology, media production equipment and a video editing lab. Its library staff helps in locating, interpreting, analyzing, evaluating and utilizing information from a variety of resources. The school s parent-teacher association coordinates school events, such as dances, fund raisers and carnival. Its parent volunteer group assists in chaperone field trips and classroom assignments.
