Going to the dentist at any age can be intimidating to some, but it is especially so with children. Our talented and comforting team at Peregrine Family Dentistry will be able to create a relaxing environment for your child to feel at ease during their appointment. We want to make sure your child is informed and understands what happens during a dental exam, that way they are included in the process.
X-rays
X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems. Detecting issues with x-rays before they become problematic can save you money in the long run. Early detection can help prevent the need for more extensive, expensive procedures or surgeries. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays.
We use ultrasonic scalers for most adult dental cleanings. These devices use ultrasonic vibrations to help break down the plaque and calculus on the teeth that cause gingivitis and periodontal disease. The ultrasonic cleaners create microscopic bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, killing microbes and removing plaque and tartar in the process.
Fluoride Treatment
If desired, your child’s dental appointment may include fluoride treatment and dental sealants. Fluoride is a key mineral in making sure your child’s teeth grow to be strong, and it is also a key factor in preventing cavities. Dental sealants are protective coverings that can be placed on your child’s molars. Because teeth such as molars have many grooves and pits, it can be an ideal location for bacteria to make your child’s tooth its new home. With dental sealants, bacteria are blocked from settling in those grooves, resulting in a healthier, happier smile!
Fillings are able to keep your teeth healthy and free of decay. When there is a form of decay, such as a cavity, we can fill the tooth with either a tooth-colored filling or a silver amalgam filling after removing the decay. When restoring with a tooth-colored filling, it matches your tooth color almost perfectly, blending effortlessly.
Veneers
Veneers are a wonderful way to transform your smile in a little amount of time. A thin sheet of porcelain is placed over your natural tooth and made permanent via dental resin cement. If you have chipped, misaligned, or teeth that are not level, veneers are a great remedy!
Crowns
Crowns also protect your smile, but in a different way. When a tooth has been severely damaged, a crown protects that tooth from any further harm. Crowns are also known as a dental cap because of the way it covers the tooth.
Bridges
Fixed bridges are different, as they are a row of prosthetic teeth that are attached. Fixed bridges are used to replace missing teeth, and are completely custom made to match the rest of the teeth in your smile. Dental crowns make your fixed bridges permanent, giving you a full, lovely smile.
Dental Bonding
Cosmetic bonding is a quick and easy way to fix small blemishes in your smile. A small chip or a gap in your smile can be unsightly, but with cosmetic bonding, it is a simple fix. We will be able to match closely the tooth-colored composite to your own tooth color, making the change as natural as possible!
Restorative Dentistry
No matter which restorative dentistry option you choose, you can be sure that everyone at Peregrine Family Dentistry promises to make your experience the best and most comfortable.
Root canals are performed when there has been severe damage and decay to a tooth. The damaged pulp has the potential to affect the nerves in your mouth, and root canals are able to stop that from happening. Dr. Clarisa will remove the infected pulp, fill it, and put a crown to protect it from further harm. In severe cases, we will happily refer to an Endodontist.
Dental implants are wonderful, and they are the more permanent solution to having missing teeth. We work with a surgeon to embed a titanium screw in your jaw bone, which will fuse with your natural bone over time. A crown is placed on top, giving you a completely new smile!
Our soft tissue laser is a versatile dental technology that can be used for a number of procedures. Patients who suffer from periodontal disease can receive laser treatment to eliminate bacteria and promote the growth of healthy tissue. In addition, the laser can be used for crown lengthening, laser-assisted flap surgery, and more.
Dr. Clarisa is a certified provider for Invisalign® Clear Braces, so you are in knowledgeable hands! Invisalign® is a wonderful way to straighten your smile seamlessly and discreetly. One of the best things about Invisalign is the fact that there are no wires and brackets involved in the straightening process, eliminating a lot of the discomfort usually associated with traditional braces. Invisalign® works through a series of aligners that are custom made for you and your smile. Throughout the straightening process, you will transition to a new aligner, and at the end, you are left with a straight, beautiful smile!
Braces
Invisalign ® When you face the prospect of wearing braces, you might not be so enthusiastic about having big, clunky, metal braces cluttering up your smile. Fortunately, we offer a totally clear, plastic aligner option that accomplishes the same goal called Invisalign! With this system, no one will be able to tell you are having your teeth straightened.
If you are struggling with a dull or stained smile, teeth whitening may be ideal! We offer in-office and take-home options to make it more convenient to whiten based on your schedule.
