It was started by Richard and Nancy Stuart after they spent over a decade as franchisees of another quick service restaurant business. The first Chicken Express franchise store was opened in 1990. The restaurant s chicken specialties include chicken breasts, chicken wings, chicken tenders and hot wings. It offers a variety of combos and family meals. The restaurant serves various side dishes, such as cheese sticks, corn nuggets, poppers, coleslaw, fried okra, french fries and mashed potato gravy. It also offers a variety of catfish and hushpuppies. The restaurant s beverage menu includes lemonade, beer and soft drinks. It additionally serves several dessert items, including fried pies, slushes, floats, shakes and frozen custard. Chicken Express is a part of Stuart Group and maintains a presence in College Station, Texas.
