General Info

Established in 1992, the South Central Correctional Center is a more than 1600-bed facility. The center is accredited by the American Correctional Association. It provides several full-time basic and general education courses in the areas of landscaping, horticulture, computer refurbishing, carpentry, masonry, electrical wiring and plumbing. The South Central Correctional Center also conducts classes in industrial, commercial and residential cleaning and painting. The center offers the Step Up/ Step Down Program, which includes family coping and milieu therapies for the mental well-being of patients. It works for the Tennessee Department of Corrections. The South Central Correctional Center is a part of the Corrections Corporation of America.
