Overall

Bad studio... Overall, it's about making money for them and they treat families who pay a lot of money horribly. The owner has issues and projects them onto the students who attend her studio. She also charges families different amounts and found out we were being charged 2x more what other families were paying! The instruction is not great. Unprofessional. Teachers will be on cell phones during class and use of classtime is used to socialize.

Overall

I would highly recommend not attending this studio and finding a better place to dance in the area. After attending several different studios before, my daughter and I have decided this is not a professional or fun environment for a dancer. There are many faults with the organization of this studio and the business owner.

This is a new studio in the area and it is quite obvious that the owner is not adequate to run her studio. The business owner is highly unprofessional and brings her emotions into the studio creating a highly unhealthy environment for her students. She directs her personal problems on to the students (not spending enough time with family, not enough sleep, too much stress) and acts as if they are a burden to her. She often screams or slams doors if things aren’t going her way as well. Her students are obviously not her priority and she does not care that she is putting unnecessary stress on her students.

She also insults studios and has no respect for her peers in the dance industry. If she is in a bad mood, the owner may try to pick an argument with her students or parents over little things that shouldn’t even be a big deal.

If her behavior wasn’t inadequate enough, the organization is very poor as well. There is no backup plan if a teacher is missing, so you pay for a class that doesn’t occur and it causes a lot of stress for parents to pick up there children from a cancelled class. The teachers are actually rather talented, but they often are disconnected from the owner and this leads to more stress for students and parents regarding costumes, schedules, etc. On top of tuition, costume fees, recital fees, and other various fees are collected at the same time and often lead to large charges in one month.

Classes are also cancelled for inadequate reasons such as the business owner not wanting to teach class and attending a theatre performance instead (you still pay for this.) If there is a rescheduled class or additional rehearsal, it is often on an inconvenient day and the studio owner gets upset if you do not attend. We agreed to attending class on a certain day at a certain time, not anytime the studio owner feels is a convenient day for her.

Overall, there is no respect for students or parents and the owner runs this studio with no common sense or logical thinking. This studio is a disgrace to the dance industry and there are many better places to receive dance training in the Capital Region.

Overall

This studio is a MESS!! The owner has NO respect for parents, students or anyone's schedules but her own! SHE is HER priority and does NOT put her students first at all!! She regularly yells at students, and parents, and even has "meetings" where she yells at everyone for everything!! I feel bad for her daughter and some of the teachers because they are great, but the owner should obviously NOT have left the previous studio and should have just stayed a teacher!!! I Highly recommend that NO one go here!!
