IEC Infrared Systems ( IEC ) is a privately held company, formed in 1999 by research scientists from the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Formally recognized as a NASA Spinoff company, operates out of a 23, 000 square foot facility in Middleburg Heights, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland. IEC is primarily an engineering company that specializes in the design, development, and manufacture of complete thermal and visual imaging surveillance systems, with a diverse in-house technical staff includes mechanical, electrical, and software engineers with specific expertise in a wide variety of relevant fields. These include areas such as mechanical/aerospace systems, controls, power conditioning, communications, high-speed digital video processing, software ( both embedded and GUI ), and infrared spectroscopy. This breadth of engineering talent makes IEC uniquely qualified to design and develop high-end commercial security systems and manufacture tactical surveillance systems for the military.
