The Cuyahoga County Coroner's Office, located in Cleveland, keeps a record of and files the causes of death on the death certificate in cases coming under its jurisdiction. It delivers, to the prosecuting attorney of the county in which a death has occurred, copies of necessary records relating to death, in judgment of the coroner or prosecuting attorney. The Cuyahoga County Coroner's Office operates an autopsy facility that performs detailed examinations of the deceased, and features a demonstration autopsy suite for training new staff, medical students, nursing students and others. The office s statistics and records management department collects, catalogues, analyzes and summarizes documents and data associated with coroner's cases.
