RCS Food Pantry

I am grateful for the food, but while in line, an older man with white hair who "worked" there appeared to deliberately run into a ladies cart. I was looking right at him and happenex to be right in front of the lady who was looking at the free flowers . He pushed a cart very quickly and busted through hitting her cart instead of saying excuse me FIRST and when she turned TO See what happened, he then said EXCUSE ME. It looked to be on purpose, but who knows, maybe his eyesight is poor. Still, i would've thougjt he would have been more apologetic and a little embarrassed..which he didn't seem to be. When i got home, i had a bag of rotted squashed pears in my box. Nice. I had some other good food butcheck the dates some rhings are outdated.

The food pantry is a blessing when I have been in need and I so appreciate the generosity of those that give to this organization which makes it possible for them to give to others.Everyone who works in the office to help guest is outstanding however the volunteers who help in the back with food distribution are often rude ,mean,and unprofessional.I had a uncomfortable experience with one volunteers yelling at me.I hope they remember that's it's often difficult for people to go to these places and ask for help.Although volunteers are unpaid help they should still be sure to make sure there volunteers are respectful to the people coming to the food bank.I don't know if I'll go back again.Its hard enough with out having to deal with the unkindness of others.

Someone posted that rcs is funded by the Government. That's only partially true. The small bag of canned vegetables in paid for with help from the government. The rest of the food is provided by multiple area churches, donations from local businesses, and donations from the public. The food my family received was a huge blessing and the staff were all very patient and kind. We hope to not need them very much longer and will be donating to this organization when our situation gets back on track. They are a pillar of hope at a dark time and an incredible asset to the community. Thank you RCS for everything you do.

I'm pretty much in a tight spot when it comes to money and dcf required me to do a child support case on my ex which got dropped because neither one of us had gone to the hearing.. I was told about the food pantry.. I was skeptical at first but I went and I got so much food . I kept going
