Health & Human Services is administered by the government of Pinellas County in Florida. Established in 1955, the department is responsible for the protection and improvement of public health. It provides dental and medical care services to citizens. Health & Human Services operates the Medical Home, which offers primary and nonemergency care services to uninsured and low-income adults up to the age of 64. The department also administers a program that assists senior citizens to pay for their electric and gas bills. Additionally, it provides emergency financial assistance, funeral care, career development and veterans services. Health & Human Services offers employment readiness training and job retention and training solutions through the STARS program.
