Dr. David Elliot Altman, MD

Wow! Reading all these comments only reassures me that this so called Dr and his staff are extremely unprofessional,rude,and unsanitary ,he made false accusations ,misdiagnosed me on several accusations, would never listen to me when i was having certain concerns. I was a patient of his for about 6mnths . In this small amount of time he made numerous misdiagnosis, made errors on my prescriptions accused me of trying to call in my own prescriptions ,called me a liar to my face,not only did he personally call in my meds, one of his air-headed staff members called them in at another pharmacy, i went and picked up meds at the pharmacy he had called. At this time i had no idea one of his staff members called n my meds at another pharmacy .On my following month app. With him he told me he could not give me my refills because i had been turned into the DEA's office for prescription fraud for trying to call in my own meds. Portraying one of his staff members. He said the 2nd pharmacy had turned me in. I went straight home and called to find out why i was turned in for prescription fraud. The pharmacy told me they had no idea what i was talking about,no one had turned me in, Dr.Altman not only lied to me to hide his mistake ,he threatened me when i confronted him ,I told him i talked to pharmacists, he became irate with me,told me if i didnt stop making calls he was REALLY going to make problems for me. on prior appointments he was verbally abuseive, he was belittling made false accusations,called me a liar,never listened to my health concerns, he denied my referral to go see a dermatologist knowing i had level 4 melanoma twice n 8mths. His diagnosis was i had craddle cap, when i finally got to dermatologist i had skin cancer on forehead. Theres so much more i could say, i do want to tell anyone who has been his patient and has complaints please call Medical Board, they do listen and they investigate every physician that gets a complaint. I hope he looses his medical license, he has no rite being a Dr, remember we as patients have rights ,we dont have to put up with this kind of treatment.

I have been a patient of Dr Altman for over 5 years and he is the most helpful, generous, professional Doctor I have EVER had and I am 46 years old.



Sadly, all of the people complaining below are coming down off of prescription meds.



I know FOR A FACT that he and his staff have helped SO many people over the years, myself included.



I have know Dr. Altman to go out of his way to help all kinds of people, from all walks of life.



Hard to find a good Doctor these days.....You just have.

I too have had a similar experience with these two. But what you can do is google "suboxone doctors" in your area. I switched to Dr Stark and he is a much better Dr but he is cash only. But there is a Dr Lundburg in Oroville who takes cmsp and medi cal. I am glad other people have come to find out their scam they have working. And yes they will get theirs in the end. Karma will find us all. I hope these comments will help others to avoid wasting their time with Dr Altman and his disrespectful staff.

If I could have selected 0 stars I would have. One star is too many. I could go on. Mary Ellen is a dimwit with a cracker jack credential. Her "counseling" consists of her talking on the phone with other people while you sit there waiting to be "counseled". The biggest waste of time and my insurances money. A gross misuse of state insurance. She doesn't know the first thing about "counseling" and I don't know how she got certified. The whole time I was a patient I paid for my medication and paid them to weigh me on a scale. That is the extent of their treatment. She has lied to me on numerous occasions and is the most forgetful person I have ever dealt with. I feel like I have been slapped in the face. They have gotten by only by being one of the only doctors in the area that deals with suboxone and it is a shame not more doctors prescribe this medication. What can I do? My ex girlfriend is also a patient and because of my problems with them they are now mistreating her. Very unprofessional. I would like to file a complaint, but don't know who to file a complaint with. the comment above mentioned "borderline sexually harassing" I think its more than borderline. My other friend who was also a patient said Dr Altman accused her of prostituting herself out for drugs and wanted in detail the worst thing she had done to get drugs sexually! She doesn't know what to do about it either because she can't afford to get off suboxone. How is this creep still in business?

I've never been treated as poorly by a physician in my life as I have been by these two quack jobs. Very unprofessional and borderline sexually harassing. Very unorganized and non compassionate. Was a patient for over a year and my insurance lapsed so I got my insurance back on track and set up payment plan. when I went for last appointment they disregarded our payment plan and demanded full payment of $450 or no more suboxone. Without my suboxone I have been throwing up and sick in bed. I tried to pay them double what we had set up but can't afford more being that I am a father of 3 and full time college student while taking care of my mother because her husband passed away last month. They know I can't get in with any other doctors on such short notice so I am forced to detox on my own. I hope they get what they have coming in the future because I have been a loyal and honest patient and am not only hurting physically but emotionally as well. I feel like I have been betrayed by someone I trusted. Thank you for reading this.
