Whitney M.Young Magnet High School offers more than 50 honors and nationally recognized advanced placement courses. Its curriculum includes English, social science, mathematics, science, foreign language, physical education, art and music. It also offers specialized services programs for the deaf and hard of hearing. It has various clubs and organizations, such as National Honor Society, peer leadership organization, chess, robotics, skiing and snowboarding. Its art program includes classes in drawing and painting, mixed media, printmaking, sculpture and videography. Its extracurricular activities include jazz, dance, drama and theater and music programs, such as chorus, band, string orchestra and piano. Its sports activities include cheerleading, baseball, basketball, bowling, football, cross country, golf, soccer, swimming, tennis, track and field, volleyball, softball and water polo.
