Merisant owns several brand names, including Equal, Canderel, Sweet Simplicity, SweetMate, EqualSweet, Misura, Mivida, Sucaryl and Chucker. Its products are approved by the Food and Drug Administration. The Equal and Canderel tabletop sweetener products account for more than 85 percent of total revenue generated by the company. It distributes its products through food retail stores, mass merchandising, pharmacies and food service channels. The company has more than 400 employees working in four production facilities located in Manteno, Ill., Zarate, Argentina, and Bergisch and Stendal, Germany. Merisant is headquartered in Chicago.
