Publick House

My wife and I had lunch once again at The Publick House in Chester--and once again we were very satisfied. The dining area (if you choose to eat indoors) is clean and appealing, the atmosphere inviting. Service (by Grant) was attentive.

Mgr. Freddi came over to check on our level of satisfaction; he's very personable, very caring about his customers.

Our food (shrimp and pasta, and burger and fries) was delicious, and quite reasonably priced.

All in all, what we have come to expect from this restaurant: a very comfortable, satisfying experience.

It was the worst dinner I had for the price it was outrageous!! I was expecting a wonderful meal instead: ordered an appetizer - never received it but was asked if we would like it during our dinner. The dinner was ok but nothing to brag about, I could of stayed home and had a better dinner. Desert was dry and rubbery, after a few minutes you could not cut it with your utensil. I was very disappointed for what we paid and what we received. This is one restaurant we will not be going back to. For a party of 4 we paid close to 300 for bad service and bad food.

We were seated at a table with pork chop bones under it and I asked the manager if they could remove them first. He said they were very busy that day, but did remove them after 10 minutes of us waiting around the table to sit down. Then the waitress brought us a basket of 3 rolls for a table of six. When my guests started to break the bread to share I again talked to the manager. He seemed annoyed and overwhelmed and said "don't tell me how to do my job." I was a regular here but won't be back. Too embarrassing to bring guests to...
