My Day Spa

the owner,Carrie, is very rude and seems to have a chip on her shoulder against "you Americans always trying to get something for nothing". I noted she argued with two black women about the service. If you purchase a facial or massage, please check the products for expiration dates. I noticed the products were runny and when I checked, all of the products had long expired dates which she pretended she had not noticed. I plan to call the department of health on her.

I have been here a few times..I get good service and the prives can't be beat..Carrie and her husband are every nice and attentive..I used to go to a different salon down the street but started coming here because of the prices and they have Sooo many colors..I recommend this place to anyone...thx Carrie for the great service...

I've been here multiple times over the past 10 years and the service has just gone down hill. Ever since the owner Jade left and Carrie took over, I find that maybe every other visit is good. Most of the staff is great and pays great attention to detail, however Carrie is just always in a rush which has become a problem not only for me, but as I've seen, for other customers as well. Last time I got a pedicure there, they put me in a pedicure chair and just had me sitting there for 30 minutes before they even began...had I known it was going to take that long just to get started I wouldn't have stayed. Then she rushed through my manicure and even skipped steps in the manicure process. She was in such a rush going from me to another customer to another customer that she didn't even get the whole nail painted on most of my nails. Then she just left me at the gel nail dryer while she went and started on a new customer and finally ages later goes "Oh, sorry, I forgot about you, hehehe". This was the biggest waste of over $60 for a gel manicure and regular pedicure I've ever had and I won't be going back. If you do go, don't let Carrie do your nails. Such a disappointment. The gel polish didn't even last a week and a half. Also, come to find out I got a nail fungus, gross.

I am giving one star because I have to. DO NOT GO HERE. They have VERY bad business practices. They put up a smile and swindle your money. They sit with you down for a pedicure / manicure with people around you. Get the premium and GEL package mam. It lasts longer and its ONLY 20 $ extra. By the time you get to the counter you are paying them 80$ for a simple NOT so great pedicure and manicure. Be very careful with them!

This is the best nail spa! I have been going there monthly since we moved to our new house in the area. The staff is friendly, takes appointments, and always makes me feel comfortable. They offer cold beverages and wine, too. Also, the deluxe pedicure is great- so relaxing and well worth the extra $! I go to the same person each time, Tai, and he is the best!

I've been going to My Day Spa for several years and have always had a wonderful experience. Jade and Teresa do a wonderful job on nails. The pedicures are relaxing and well done. About the racist comment - Wow! I can't even imagine. If you knew their personal story and really knew them you would know that's not even a possibility. At any rate, I have recommended them time and time again and will continue to do so.

I'm really shocked by the previous reviews and that's putting it mildly! I have been going to My Day Spa for 6 years now and I've always had AMAZING service! Before coming to My Day Spa, I tried out half a dozen nail spas in the area and even got a fungal infection from one...Jay (the owner) knew exactly what to do and it healed rather quickly. I have been to this salon at every possible hour of the day and every day of the week and I'm always pleased with my service. I've NEVER seen any kind of discrimination going on and I'm always a walk-in customer so it's not like they're on their 'best behavior' because I'm there. I would recommend My Day Spa to anyone/everyone and wouldn't hesitate for a moment in doing so! I've been fortunate enough to get to know the owners as people and I gladly call them friends!!! Btw, I've had acrylic/gel nails for 20 years now so I've been through my fair share of salons and they're one of the best! To anyone who has had bad service, give them another chance because everyone has their off days =)

Please do not go! Mr. Jay will rip you off especially if you are African American/ and I am White. I have gone 4 times and have observed how they operate. They appear to be very nice but at the same time he over charge you. He gave my friend gel polish and she did not ask for it and she told him this but he still charged her 28.00 for just a fill in and he also put a thin coat of acrylic so her nails would lift, which cause your nails not to last. Another Nail Tech told me this when she looked at my nails. DO NOT BE FOOLED!!!!

I just read the negative review for My Day Spa and was shocked! I've visited most of the nail salons in the University area and have always come back to My Day Spa because of the wonderful service I receive each and every time. The staff has bent over backwards to get me and my daughters in and out in an hour before we went on vacation and it was a beautiful job. My gel nails were great!

I continue to get my nails done at My Day Spa because of the superb service I receive each time.

I'm not sure what happened with that lady but I feel she just may be hard to please. I would and have recommended My Day Spa to friends and they love it too. Experience it yourself and see!

This shop has the highest prices of any nail spa I have every been to, but it was right in my neighborhood so I thought I would give it a try. I went in for an American Manicure gel fill. It was done by the store manager, Jade. The results were horrible. Every one of my nails were already lifting as he finished the fill. He did not take the gel down next to the cuticle, but left it looking as if there was already 2 weeks grow out, making it necessary for me to return for another fill much sooner and to spend more money at their spa. There was also a very obvious line between the pink of my nail and the white of my nail. Yikes!! I asked for a refund, but they refused to refund my tip! There are much better and less expensive nail salons in Charlotte. Don't waste your money on this one!
