Kilborne Apartments

To this day, I have not received a return of my security deposit. North Carolina law requires a return of a deposit in 30 days. I should have received my deposit no later than 1.30.16.



I received no explanation at all until today, because mentioned their failure to issue my deposit within the required timeframe, but have also continued to be vague and unresponsive, that I received an email with an explanation for the failure to issue me my deposit.



According to the email, they have been in business, the company which owns Kilborne Apartments, for 50 years, know, inform their agents of, and follow the law. That they process 40 deposit returns a day, and that this was some sort of "mistake". That the manager of the apartments sent the company the invoice for my unit on January 14, but somehow, while they process 40 deposit returns daily, mistakenly forgot to mail mine out, for 2 weeks. It is difficult to believe from these facts that this was a mistake, and not a willful act.
