Emperor Chinese Restaurant

My coworker and I recently discovered this restaurant. The restaurant had a great health score, and was voted Best in Charlotte. Our first time in the food was great, the atmosphere was charming and the prices were better. Less than two weeks later we decided to go back for a second try, but to our disappointment there was a very low health inspection score. We wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt so we proceeded to ask for an explanation of the score. The host/server/manager would not speak to us. He responded very rudely with, "I don't know why it's so low," as he turned and went off to the kitchen. We were left standing there, very disappointed, and still hungry.

I have lived in Charlotte for many years, Emperor restaurant is my first choice compare to any other chinese restaurants in Charlotte areas. The food was great..how can I say, Highly recommand

I really can't comment on the food at The Emperor Chinese Restaurant. The first thing I look for going into any restaurant is the Health Dept. certificate. Their rating was 84. I turned and left...simple as that.

We've eaten here often for lunch and dinner. There are tables and booths, the space is clean, cozy, and service is quick. The food is great with options for spicy or simply tasty, and all at very reasonable prices. There are many lunch specials which include entree, rice, egg roll for around $5.00 and dinner combos that are filling as evidenced by the many men who eat there. Also, all our takeout orders have been accurate and included utensils, sauces, napkin, and noodles if we ordered soup. Well worth your time!
