Mary Scroggs Elementary School was founded in 1999, and is located in Chapel Hill, N.C. The school is operated by the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City School District. It offers academic classes in grades kindergarten through five in various subjects, including reading, writing, spelling and vocabulary, English, math, science, social studies, language art and special education. The school has a media center that provides online encyclopedias, databases, facts and statistics, and dictionaries and thesaurus to its students for additional resources. The school also has a parent advocacy committee that provides primary leadership and authority in the day-to-day operation of school, as well as parent teacher association that organizes fundraising events throughout the school year.
