General Info

Walter Royal Davis Library is the central library located in Chapel Hill, N.C. It encompasses more than 400,000 square feet of area and provides seating for over 2,000 users. Its holdings include more than 2.5 million volumes and 2 million printed government documents, over 3 million microforms and thousands of electronic titles. It houses the main general, humanities and social sciences collections, including the major campus holdings of government documents and microforms. It also includes the main reference, electronic information, and interlibrary borrowing services for the campus. It has more than 100 public computers, a computer lab, group study rooms, high-tech instructional labs, a collaboratory where library staff assist faculty in integrating digital resources into their Web-based teaching and research projects.
