We are delighted to have Jason, with his vast orthopedic experience of nearly 20 years, as a member of our DOS team. His first positions, after obtaining his certification, allowed him to subspecialize in Hand and Spine Orthopedics. When he moved to Tucson, Arizona in 2006 he gained additional training in Total Joint Replacements. In 2017 he moved up to the Valley to join Desert Orthopedic Specialists and can now be found both in the OR along side Dr. Fox as a First Assistant in Surgery or seeing both New and Established patients in our office.
Sciatica
Some sciatica patients who are struggling with pain related to irritation of their sciatic nerve also turn to acupuncture for pain relief. The sciatic nerve exits the spine in the lower back and runs past the hip. For many people with sciatica, their pain is rooted in the hip, where the rotator muscles of the hip pinch the sciatic nerve. Acupuncture has been proven to effectively release the rotator muscles pinching the nerve, reducing inflammation and dramatically decreasing the resulting pain.
Arthroscopy
If you do have to undergo orthopedic knee surgery, itâ€™s always preferable to have knee arthroscopy performed. Arthroscopy does not require the large incisions that are notorious for the damage they cause to healthy surrounding tissues.

Hip Replacement
Dr. Fox and Jason are one of the best provider teams I have experienced is awhile, very caring. I am overall a very healthy 62 year old and had left hip total replacement about 3 months ago. Dr. Fox takes the time to speak with you and explain the process, never feel rushed at all. The surgery was a great success and the recovery was better thank I expected and better than my brother in law's who had a total hip replacement 4 weeks prior to mine with a different provider. Jason is the PA and is very engaging and friendly and also takes the time to explain and listen. I am scheduled to have my other hip replaced in about a month and look forward to another great surgery and recovery, and to finally be out of pain.
Knee Replacement
Three months after total shoulder replacement! I am 90% back to normal.. no pain! Have a little work to do reaching behind my back but it will come!
