worst customer service and junk furniture

wow. didn't think things could get any worse after the first time my furniture was delivered they broke the table while putting it together, scratched the brand new dressers and put a small hole in my wall.

and then it did. the bed broke the first night we slept in it, and the store manager told me that i shouldn't expect furniture to "arrive in perfect condition". then he called me a liar and told me that i was exaggerating at the fact that his delivery people were incompetent.

oh yeah, and the delivery was an hour and a half late (out of the 3 hour window i was given)

sum it up- furniture is junk and managers know nothing about customer service.

If I could do half a star, I would. We were just in this weekend and the sales lady that approached us was extremely rude. I don't think I even seen her smile once. We had a voucher for $300 from an extended warranty that we wanted to use and they tried to tell us it was expired when it wasn't. After they finally told us that we could use it we left, went to Lazy Boy, was greeted by an amazing sales lady, bought our furniture there then went back to Ashley's and spent every cent of that $300 credit for smaller items. They didn't get a cent out of our pockets and won't ever.

I will never go back again - purchased a rug that's happened to be much darker than what was pictured in the catalog. I went to the store to speak about this and how I could return it - even willing to pay re-stocking fee. All I kept getting from the manager was that they don't accept returns on any special order rugs. I said even if wrong color - you won't take it back. He gave me the same answer. I am disgusted that a store would have such a horrible policy. The quality of the rug was even poor and will not lay flat. They won't do anything to help with satisfaction. I NEVER buy from an Ashley Furniture and I advise you to do the same. No wonder why the store was empty EVERY time I came in to look at couches.

Very knowledgeable, helpful, and fast customer service! The wonderful staff were able to find exactly what my wife and I wanted. They were able to answer questions on the warranty and their warranty extensions.



We will be shopping again at Ashley Furniture!

LIE, CHEAT AND STEAL should be the mission statement for Ashley furniture! My fiancé and I purchased furniture from the Ashley store in Champaign, IL 4 weeks ago. We were told the expected delivery date was March 22nd. The day before I decided to call since I hadn't been called to schedule delivery and see what was going on. I was then informed that our furniture wasn't even going to be shipped from the production warehouse in Arcadia, WI until April 27th and then it would take 3-5 days for it to reach the warehouse here and then another week for delivery, and this was all just an estimate because it could potentially be pushed out further! I went in the next day to speak with the manager. After speaking to 2 customer service reps and 2 managers we were told that if we cancelled we would be charged a 30% restocking fee for being screwed over. We were then told we could reselect however there was nothing else in the color scheme that would fit our living room dimensions so they told me that the loveseat and ottoman (2 pieces out of the 4 piece sectional we ordered) was actually on the truck they received at the warehouse that day so if we wanted to wait for the rest they would deliver the 2 pieces to us this week. We agreed to this so that way we would at least have somewhere to sit since we currently don't have any furniture. Our sales rep called today to follow up and apologize for the inconvenience one more time and curious me asked when I should be receiving a call to schedule delivery this week for the loveseat and ottoman. She had NO idea what I was talking about, tried to charge us a 2nd delivery fee when we were told it would be free since it was their mistake, and then informed me the only piece they had in was the ottoman but they could deliver that if we wanted! WHAT IS THE POINT OF JUST AN OTTOMAN!!!! When I asked where the loveseat went she said they never received it and that it was not expected to ship until the end of April with the rest of the couch. When I told her I was frustrated she simply said well I won't be here tomorrow or thursday but I will leave a note for the manager and he can call you! Yeah, right like that has worked out so well so far! Go ahead and delete this post, I will have posted it on yellow pages, angie's list, filed a complaint with the better business bureau and posted this to my wall and my fiancé's wall. Word will get out, and I assure you we will NEVER recommend Ashely to ANYONE, EVER! Your company is a joke and I am not a fan of being screwed over. If I could give 0 stars to this company, I would in a heart beat. I wish we never would have went to Ashley!

This store is awesome! I highly recommend a visit here before buying anywhere else. I just made my first purchase from Ashley Furniture and it definitely won't be my last. I have been very pleased with my purchase. The selection was overwhelming and it was hard to choose. But my salesman, Nate Bautista, was also awesome. He listened to what I was looking for and took me right to the item I ended up purchasing. And for what it's worth, I NEVER purchase extended warranties but I bought theirs. You couldn't beat the features.

Wonderful store & staff! We were so very pleasantly surprised by our shopping experience at Ashley Furniture. Greeted quickly by friendly staff, and they were not pushy or anything. Just let us look around on our own for as long as we needed. It took us two visits to figure out which furniture we wanted, staff were pleasant & understanding. Originally went in for just a bed frame, but were so happy with the place, we ended up being a couch & dining room table! Nathan was excellent to deal with, very helpful, knowledgeable & friendly! The delivery folks were very kind & careful! I will definetely be going back to visit Ashley Furniture in Champaign, & have already told others about out great experience, and will undoubtably tell more!

If you want prompt professional service from a no pressure salesman, ask for Andy Paris. He is the best. He helped us find furniture within our budget and in the style we liked. The check-out process was smooth and he has been quick to answer any questions we have had - even after the sale was complete.

I built a new house and needed new furniture. I went to several different furniture stores and when i went to Ashley Furniture and seen the selection they had I knew this was the place I was going to buy. I met with a very friendly and helpful salesman by the name of Jimmy Vu. We told him what we were looking for and he helped us find the right match. I recommend everyone to go to Ashley Furniture in Champaign, IL for a great all around selection and friendly environment. A+++++++++++

Andy paris was wonderful. We went on a friday to look at loveseats and sofas he was very helpful and when we went back 2 weeks later to buy it he remember which one we wanted. he also told us how the come in sections and u bolt the frame together which was wondeful cause we didn't want to pay the $99 for out of town delivery. when its time to get my son his first bed I will definitly be going back.

Worst Customer Service encountered

Ms. Cortney Schroder, the customer service manager could have made my experience better if she would have been honest, helpful and polite. I've never dealt with customer service this horrible on top of the poor quality of the product. Here is more about my story:I received a defective couch and despite my request for a full refund or an even exchange within the 1st 24 hours were both denied.I purchased a couch from Ashley's with my personal credit card and I was told it was brand new. I picked it up from their store and delivered to my home myself. They left the item wrapped and I was told by Ms. Cortney Schroder when I picked it up that I had 24 hours to look over the couch and to contact them as soon as possible if there were any issues with the couch. As soon as I got home I unwrapped my couch and quickly noted defects in the product. I then called the store which had been closed by this time and left a message on the customer service voicemail. The next morning I didn't get a call back so I called again and was transferred to the Customer Service Manager. My request for an even exchange, discount on the item or complete refund were all immediately denied and I was told that the couch would be repaired or I could return it and still be left to pay a 30% restocking fee for the couch. The cust service manager sent a repair man and he partially "repaired" the item while I was not at home. The stitching was loosely tacked up and he staple the bottom of the couch that was loose on arrival up (which as a result is bunchy) and left the other defects on the couch as is. I immediately called the customer service manager when i got home and saw this to complain and she set up a time to look at the couch. I explained to the Customer Service Manager that the repairman told my mom that her signature was only to confirm he came and for me to call if i wasn't happy. When the Ms. Cortney Schroder came late (which I canceled a physical therapy appointment to meet her on time)she looked at the couch I was told I would be contacted with a decision on Tuesday. She didn't call me back on Tuesday so I called her and left a message. She called me the next mid-day and said the decision was for me to pay 30% of the cost of the couch to return it because the initial 24 hour time period had elapsed (even though I made the request for them to pick up my couch within the first 24 hours in the beginning) OR to keep it with no discount and only get replacement pillows and they would attempt to make the other repairs. I was also told (when she came to my home) that even if they would have exchanged the couch my chances of getting a worse couch than what I had are high.

Worst treatment I have EVER experienced!

Don't shop here! Worst than the worse car dealership! We were given a price quote on a bedroom set, I called to find out the whole total with tax and delivery so that we could order what we chose over the phone. We were so excited to get our bedroom; then to our shock, the total was $1000 HIGHER than our quote! The salesman admitted to leaving the chest off the price by "mistake" he then called me back to backpedal(surely out of fear of getting in trouble) I asked to speak to the manager and was given Mike the Store owner, who proceeded to interupt my explaination of what happened, he then yelled at me and belittled me, turning it into MY FAULT! I was not seeking anything other than an apology and acknowledgement of the mistake THEY made!! He ended our conversation saying he did not want my business...wow! That is NO WAY to run a business and because the stores are individually owned there is no corperate recourse! I am shocked by how I was treated. What a waste of time, a true disappointment!!
