We purchased a Siberian Husky in July.
The dogs are expensive, but remember if there is an unknown medical issue that are found by your preferred veterinary, they will cover the expenses to get them healthy. Our dog was healthy as could be and is doing wonderful. The team at the pet store were organized, caring and thoughtful. They definitely set you up for success and give you everything you would need and then some to start your new puppy journey! Definitely would recommend to anyone who is serious in giving a puppy a wonderful home! We are so grateful for The Pet Store staff who were supportive and very informal on helping us throughout the entire process!

I love this Pet Store! We bought our bird Frankie here which we just love him! It’s very clean and I love how you can pet the animals and hold them before you purchase them. The staff is very friendly. My kids love it too! They can’t wait to go back to visit. I highly recommend The Pet Store!

This is an absolute joke of a pet store. They do not know the proper care for animals, overcharge for puppy mill dogs and even charge a "dotation" when a person wants to see a dog or cat up close instead of through glass. They keep large breed puppies 2 at a time in very small cages with little to no bedding, or access to fresh food and water. They block people from reviewing them on their Facebook page which is a big red flag in itself. Please don't give them your business! They have been supporting puppy mills for way too long!

I have taken home many additions to my family from the pet store! I love the friendly workers and I love bringing my daughter in to play with the animals it always makes her day! It’s also great that our donations from seeing the puppies goes to local animal rescues!

The most disrespectful most infuriating company people I’ve ever had to deal with. I’m not sure how people in this world can be so cold and cruel. We had bought a Dog from them and the manager continued to be so disrespectful and hung up on my wife because our dog had to have all kinds of vet visits and had a culture taken from her lungs that has costed us over $10,000. They could care less. Please I am only writing this to eventually shut this place down and to save families from buying animals from a place that just wants your money? It’s crazy that this world has people like this. Keila Barrett and Angela Clutchall should be taken to jail for selling sick animals while making thousands of dollars. Sick people!

I love this place they where so nice and helped make sure we had everything we needed for her. We got a collar, lease and dog toys that days. Very clean and great people working there.

I like this place! It seems pretty friendly, and I have no complaints on the animals I've adopted or known that have been adopted there. A cousin adopted a guinea pig a year ago and it's still kicking, and healthy. Also got a rabbit for someone and so did my sister, and they're in perfect condition and happy as well. Really, I can't think of any complaints other than that in order to work there you must be working towards a high-school diploma...of course, this doesn't affect me as I don't want to work there, but it just doesn't make any sense to me - what does it matter if you're a student or not to work at a PET STORE? I just find it a bit dumb, sorry. The dogs there seem so happy it's so cute. Also, as far as I know, the employees are nice and friendly. OH! A complaint is the prices of the puppies. I think it's a bit much. $1,300 for a German Shepherd? Maybe I'm just cheap, but I've had many chances to adopt a much more healthy and more worth-it (money-wise) for less money. Other than that huge bummer, this is my favorite pet store.

Does Not Adhere to Contractual Agreement

The Pet Store owner Ms. Angela Barrett has refused to adhere to contractual agreement on a sale of pet which was very sick when purchased (customer was not aware) and would have died within days if not taken to vet on emergency basis and follow up appointments. Owner refused to pay medical costs to customer per her own contractual agreement and PA State Law. Customer will seek Small Court Claim process and report to local Better Business Bureaus available. Customer will also write article for "Letter to Editor" in all local newspapers in reference to the true customer service from Ms. Barrett and her "The Pet Store" business practices.

Ms. Barrett was also quoted in the Public Opinion 07-15-2007 as to be a major supporter of the the PA "Right to Know Act".... "If you don't have anything to hide, there's nothing to worry about," said Angela Barrett, president of Cobwebs Inc., doing business as The Pet Store, Chambersburg, one of two kennels in the county selling more than 700 dogs a year. "Anything available through the (Right to Know Act) should be available.

But in reality she refuses to respond to inquiries on her kennel, broker and breeder licences and ASPCA Kenel inspection reports.

Recommend you think twice about spending over $1000 for an unregistered very sick diseased pet who would have died within 24hrs and not noticed that it was so sick in the pet store. The pet will also have a lifetime of medical bills which could have been corrected if diagnosed correctly and sooner. Whatever the cost will be, the pet will now be taken care of and have a very loving home.

Regards,

Extremely unsatisfied customer!

We were just made aware of this complaint on 20 Feb 12 and would like to respond. This business is owned by Cobwebs, Inc. an S-Corp registered in Pennsylvania, not Angela Barrett. This may be confirmed in PA state corporation records. This business is required to make reimbursements IAW PA State Law overseen by the PA Attorneys General. Kennel records are public and available on line under the PA Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Dog Law. We have never had an infraction. We do not hold Broker or Breeder Licenses. We are not inspected by the ASPCA. ALL puppies are required by PA State Law to be seen by a veterinarian at CUSTOMER EXPENSE within 10 days of sale. This is to insure the puppy is healthy and if the puppy is not, a return and reimbursement is made IAW PA State Law. This business has no idea who made this complaint but thinks it may have been placed by a competing business. We have no records of anything such as this happening. There was no lawsuit or complaint thru the local District Justice and BBB records are online also showing no BBB complaint. We hold an A rating with the BBB.
