St Petro Laurel Haus

We brought my Dad to St. Pedro on 4/5/16. The owner described this as a secure memory care assisted living facility. Within 20 min of arrival we learned that it is not really secure. My Father was able to leave through the front door 6 times. With only 1 staff person at the facility, it was obvious that this was going to be a problem. The secure cabinets for medicine/prohibited items only had child locks on them that my Dad was able to open. He was able to get a hold of things he should not have had access to. The staff’s solution was to call me to come over and resolve it. We were promised a doctor within the first 48 hrs and then were told it would be 2-3 weeks. Our father’s care plan was not acted upon during his stay there. I cannot in good faith recommend this facility to anyone. We were charged for time he did not stay at the home and the owner violated the signed contract with blatant disregard to our concerns. If you are looking for a place for your loved one, keep looking.
